Over the last couple of years, I’ve always made a point of wearing colour at weddings to celebrate the occasion, rather than wear black, which seems so unfitting given the nature of the day. It’s a given that there are exceptions, like when you find out virtually the night before you leave that the wedding in question calls for flat shoes, rather than heels. Faced with this dilemma, the simplest option seemed to choose an alternate dress, which just so happened to be black, that I could quite happily pair with some flat shoes.

As I probably already mentioned, the wedding venue itself was absolutely spectacular, situated on the top of a hill with 360 degree views of the colossal mountains of which Queenstown is nestled amongst, and the dreamy clear night sky speckled with stars added further to the romanticism of the day as the evening wore on. For a couple who had a wedding plagued by rain in the United Kingdom, it seemed only fitting that their New Zealand counterpart be a day blessed with clear skies. Queenstown, until next time..

  1. I love the asymmetric hem and drape of that dress! That first shot of you is so lovely. Cool that you were able to come up with something quick that totally worked! :)

  2. What a stunning location for a wedding! I agree about trying to wear colors for weddings but a little black dress can be so easy and chic. You look beautiful!
