Today, I’m really excited to be sharing my autumn capsule wardrobe with you all. As much as I love the summer time, I’m looking forward to being able to layer up and wear more than just a silk cami and a skirt on the regular.

Rather than follow the guidelines for Project 333 or the 30×30 Wardrobe Challenge, I’ve created some rules of my own which are much more suited to my own lifestyle. I’m narrowing it down to 30 pieces of clothing – gym gear, shoes, bags and accessories are not included.

I’m still in the process of finalizing my capsule – I prefer to take it slow and start with what I know will work, and add in complementary or ‘missing’ pieces as the season goes on, plus this gives me the opportunity to replace or buy new season items, if I need them, of course.

At this stage, my capsule is looking a little like this:

There’s a lot of the neutrals, which I always tend to fall back on, but you’ll notice that I’m also starting to incorporate a little more colour than usual. Lately, I’ve been finding myself drawn to vibrant reds, blush pinks, and perhaps more surprisingly, jewel-toned emerald greens and deep plum tones. Often, there seems to be the misconception that most capsule wardrobes need to be based on the neutrals, and I’d really like to dispel that as I start to introduce a little more colour into my own wardrobe.

I’ve still got a good third of my capsule left to plan and I’m looking to add in a little more vibrancy, some silky trousers, a navy a-line skirt and possibly a charcoal grey longline cardigan (a la Acne Studios). I’ll be coming in with an update halfway through to share what else I’ve managed to pick up and add to my autumn wardrobe.

As usual, I’ve put together a fun video so that you can see my capsule in action. Click the play button down below to watch! X
