J Crew sweater (similar option here), Karen Walker skirt (old but this is very similar), Wilson Trollope globe coat* (also adore the cream, and the black is a great staple), ASOS scarf (if you love millennial pink then this will be up your alley), Paul Andrew heels (flats available here), Mademoiselle X Mejuri earrings, 3.1 by Phillip Lim mini pashli bag (also here), Astrid & Miyu ring

It’s a good month into winter now, but give me a little bit of sunshine (and temperatures over 17 degrees celsius), and you can bet that I’ll be finding a way to bare my legs, even if it means bundling up big on top. In a bid to get out of my preoccupation with all things black, I’ve been making the most of everything blush-toned in my closet, and this beautiful cocoon coat from Wilson Trollope in the haze pink has been no exception – plus did I mention it was designed by my old high school friend, Annabelle Wilson? (and this beauty was made in New Zealand – got to love supporting local industry!).

I went for a more tonal outfit over the weekend; a combination of beige, blush and burgundy – a pairing that seems to work so effortlessly, though this coat is also right at home with the usual suspects, whether that’s a charcoal grey hued knit sweater or a black and white breton striped dress. The thing I love most? The exaggerated drop shoulders that skims the silhouette, and the subtle standing collar. It’s those little details which really make a difference, and elevate this wardrobe classic.

Aside from the coat (and a sneaky new shoe purchase…), this outfit is made up of old favourites; items in my closet which have really withstood the test of time – and if you’ve been a long time reader of my blog then you’ll know by now that I’m constantly scouting out for wardrobe workhorses that will stand the test of time. More often than not, this means the classics, with a little bit of a modern twist.

Really loving this outfit!!! It just looks so good on you… and the coat is indeed very pretty.
This will be an inspiration for winter to come (in Europe).

I love the scarf- it brings the whole look together. It doesn’t get so cold in Perth, so one or two coats tend to do it, but I do have an I Love Mr Mittens wool beanie that gets a bit of love in winter. It will really come into its own someday if I wear it overseas in winter time but even so it is one of my winter favourites.
