Sales are on, summer collections are just around the corner, yet I’m somewhat fixated on the many Resort/Cruise lookbooks which have been floating about lately. With summer on its way I’m not quite the target market, although it does seem to hit the spot quite nicely, filling in that gap of what to wear in those few months between winter and summer.
One of the collections in particular which is catching my eye is Phillip Lim’s, although that fact was probably a given. A cacophony of perforated laser-cut detailing, dandelion embellished jackets and silhouettes which are at times boxy and oversized all add to the appeal. Lim’s signature bag, the ‘Pashli’ looks to have gotten an update, with a nod to the 90s in its new backpack form – which if you ask me is a perfect and subtle transition from his current SS ’13 collection which is an amalgamation of 90s style grunge in its best forms.
