Chambray on chambray

Lover lace insert blouse, Karen Walker skirt, Acne ‘blake’ blazer, Alexander Wang oxfords, Proenza Schouler PS11 bag

Lately I find myself wearing the same small collection of skirts and tops, over and over, like I can’t help myself. And, it got me to thinking about when I was younger, and had a much more minimal wardrobe. I had my favourite outfits, which I couldn’t wait to wear, and would wear the same combination quite happily, perhaps even over successive days, a concept that has up until recently seemed lost to me. But there’s this satisfaction, maybe even a slight sense of smugness, in finding something you actually truly love, and want to wear successive times – and with my past obsessive culling, it almost feels like a triumph in a way. Has me contemplating doing a second 30×30 challenge…

You make a good point of the good old days and loving items. I used to have those too. Well more of them than I do now. I’m trying to get back to that spot. I really love your chambray double up. Really beautiful pieces. I can understand why these are favourites!

    xx Mandi

Love love love this. Especially the skirt. I must have it. But I have given up buying clothes for lent! If I can still track one down in 40 days, it’s mine. I tried on the Karen Walker denim star culottes and blazer, but they weren’t really me. So I went home with the navy star print boat pants. I have decided there is no such thing as too many boat pants. This blouse looks gorgeous on you too. Did you get it recently?

The chambray on chambray looks so lovely together, like a softer double denim, really nice & that skirt is so cute. I feel kind of similar lately too, I’ve been wearing certain pieces all the time & will happily wear an outfit for a 2nd day (if I’m seeing different people each day! Hah) when I feel really pleased with the way the outfit looks. Maybe it’s to do with getting older & feeling more ‘comfortable’ in ourselves & our choices? You should definitely do another 30×30 if you feel like it, it was really inspiring to follow along with the first one πŸ™‚

I love this skirt – very cute. I get into same-combo habits as well. Some things are just too good to only were once… or twice. I love your new blog πŸ™‚
