Getting ahead

Karen Walker dress, Glassons cardigan, Beau Coop x KW shoes, Country Rd socks, Alexander Wang devere bag, Cheap Monday ring, Marc by Marc Jacobs katie bracelet

I have always been a sucker for sales. Always. There is something thrilling about nabbing a purchase for an absolute bargain, and even better if it’s something that you have been wanting to buy for some time. With the Thanksgiving break in the US (Happy Thanksgiving!), come the Black Friday sales, and inevitably, at least for me, a purchase or two.

Some, but of course not all, of my most beloved items in my wardrobe have been a result of a successful sale purchase. Like the dress and the shoes I’m wearing – bought on a whim during sale time, yet have more staying power in my wardrobe than some of my planned purchases. Case in point that you never know if something is going to work for you until you buy it and take it home. You might initially be certain, or very sure, but this can quickly fade, as I have learnt time and time again.

Anyway, I was pretty quick to jump at the opportunity of nabbing some much-needed sweaters, gloves and pajamas from the various sales, as well as pulling the trigger on THIS black swimsuit from ASOS. I also managed to get a little bit of my Christmas shopping out of the way, which means less stress for me in the lead up to December 25. Talk about forward planning, I know, but it never hurts to be prepared.

I love that cardigan! And I agree, I love my sale purchases, sometimes it’s something I’ve had my eye on for a while and when it’s finally on sale I nab it! 😀

I have such a weakness to buy when I see a sale. I love knowing I got something special. Black Friday is whole lot of craziness in the US.

I’m a sucker for a sale too… these days I get my fix in the supermarket buying reduced to clear meat 🙂
I totally agree with you about never knowing how something will be until you wear it… I wish though that things were more clear in the fitting room. I would save so much money.

Love the spotty dess (I’m wearing my KW spotty pants today too) and the cute but not too cute socks and shoes combo.

Sales are too tempting… I’m off to Japan in a week and it’s coming up to Christmas so I’m meant to be buying for others not myself, and what do I do? First I go to the Sass & Bide warehouse sale for skinny jeans and come out with two pair of wide leg pants and a cropped black coat. Then I see both bags I want on sale on the Alexander Wang online store. Uh oh. All I can say is, let’s hope my eBay listings go well!

Hey I hope you have the best time in Japan!! Haha and don’t worry – I do the exact same thing. It’s like there’s something going on in my head right before I go on a big trip that says, hey, you know what, I should just go out and buy all this stuff x

Absolutely gorgeous outfit! Those sock and shoes rock! I’ve been hitting the sales too but only bought items on my wish list. It’s definitely a great time to buy. Japan! I’m so jealous. I love it there. Have a brilliant trip

Totally in love with your shoe & sock combo, I love quirky socks and totally cranked them in Wellington. But so far Melbourne has either been too hot or too cold to be able to wear it! Ah no middle ground here, weather wise.

I am pretty excited that my trip home coincides with the KW end of season sale, so am definitely starting a savings plan now in case I feel like going crazy!

Thanks lovely! I always figured that Melbourne weather was like Wellington but just more extreme?

LOL so cute! I am thinking of getting a couple of things, but have to admit that I think there’s gonna be a little less KW in my life in future. Although I do always go a little overboard don’t I haha. What dates are you here? x
