Kicking off Wellington Fashion Week 2013

Last night, Wellington Fashion Week kicked off with a roaring start, beginning with a WORLD fashion showcase, followed by the WFW opening night party.

Somewhat completely fulfilling a Wellington cliche, I found myself almost head to toe in black, stripes aside, having decidedly taken a more casual approach to the evening amid a crowd of some of Wellington’s most fashionably dressed. This morning, almost without realizing, I found myself grasping in the depths of my wardrobe for a pair of heels to see the day out, breaking the daily and regimented process of rotating through my flats. I suppose a bit of fashion-shock culture was bound to hit pre-MBFWA considering how comfortable I’d begun to get in my rather simplistic daily uniform.

I finally picked up these black booties over the long weekend, having gone through a string of confusing phone calls as to whether they were arriving or were they toffee colored or was the size just a glitch in the system. So far they’re proving a breeze to break in, essentially confirming in my mind that these were more necessary than not. Makes choosing shoes for Sydney just that little bit easier..

Beautiful ankle boots (and they’re on sale, nice). We tend to navigate towards black because it helps to provide an elegant look 🙂
