There are some textures, scents, tastes that seem to resonate so strongly with me, a remnant of some almost forgotten memory that is brought back sharply the moment you come in contact with it. Corduroy is one such texture, a reminder of my youth, a chocolate brown matching pant and jacket combination. Clearly, it’s come a long way since then, with RUBY’s modern take creating a new memory, which when associated with Australian Fashion Week, is one I’m unlikely to forget any time soon.
Today I found myself taking a brief respite from what has been a rather full on week, opting to enjoy a bit of the city while I can, and catching up with a couple of the New Gen designers – of whom I’m very excited to see show this Friday. It was probably just as well, as my voice has been starting to fade, and all concept of eating whole foods has been quickly flying out the window. Of course tomorrow it will be business as usual.
