Practical impracticality

Equipment blouse, Karen Walker blazer (similar) & skirt, KW x Beau Coops loafers (similar), Proenza Schouler PS11 bag, H&M necklace, MBMJ bolt bracelet

While I don’t own one in the general sense of the term, a slightly mismatched skirt suit is a look I quite frequently gravitate towards, rather subconsciously, when the weather starts to shift. A combination of looking ‘pulled together’, and trying to find as many layers as possible to throw on before leaving the house, oft a necessity considering the general force of the winds. Highlighting a somewhat practical side to an almost thoughtless decision – which I think could also be used to describe the impromptu haircut I gave myself that very evening; a strong desire to lop off an inch or so from the ends, resulting in much healthier looking hair. In any case, an action that was long overdue, with my last trip to the hairdresser dating back to July last year. Has me thinking that perhaps I shouldn’t wait quite so long for the next one.

Love how the blazer makes it super chic! The necklace is the perfect cherry on top for the whole classic colors.

I’ve always wanted to own a PS11, but I ended up buying designs that looked like it from Aldo and ASOS instead 🙁 I used to cut the ends of my hair myself when I had longer hair and I still miss sitting in a circle of newspaper, in front of a mirror and start trimming my fringe and hair! But healthier looking hair is always better! I still have to say your outfits that you’ve always pulled together looks so amazing; I don’t think I can ever wear a high-waist skirt without looking stumpy with my short legs 🙁

Trimming the ends of the hair is a thing we should do more regularly, and I’m guilty of ignoring it and maybe only doing it once a year. It really helps!

The skirt is lovely and I’m still in love with those shoes!

Your’e brave!!! Cutting your own hair :-S I need to cut my fringe – or go to a hairdresser – either one 😉
I’m loving the suit, it looks like it’s meant to go together.

Those shoes are gorgeous. And I still wish I got that skirt as well as the boat pants. Do you have anything on your wish list from the New Rose collection?

Pretty much the loafers in the beige and navy, and perhaps a pair of heels, along with one of the printed rose jumpers and printed rose dresses. Will be interesting to see what SH looks like actually, trying to tone down my wardrobe so KW isn’t featuring as much anymore!

you’re so good at preppy chic looking ensembles, kind of mismatched but not 😉 and ugh tell me about the hair – i am just about giving up on my ends!
