Working that leather skirt

Country Rd breton stripe top, Vintage leather skirt, Zara blazer, Charlotte Olympia kitty flats, Diva necklace, Karen Walker bracelet, H&M earrings

One of the things I have spent the longest time tracking down is a high waisted leather skirt. After a bit of searching, including an ASOS mini that just wasn’t right, and one purchase which turned out to be a touch big for me (although thankfully a perfect fit for my mother), I managed to find it. And of course, it’s vintage. So no wonder I had a hard time.

And of course, like with most new purchases, I spent little time waiting to wear it. I’m of the opinion that a leather skirt, dependent on the style, works in most social situations, and didn’t think twice throwing it on this morning to wear to work. Pared down with a loose cotton tee, a tailored blazer, and my shoe of choice – a pair of velvet kitty flats, there’s little about my outfit that screams sexy; a word that is generally synonymous with the leather skirt. Other pared down ways I plan to wear it is with an oversized jumper, or a slightly loose jumper with a collared shirt underneath with both flat and heeled boots, and with loose tanks and heeled sandals on days where the weather is relatively mild. What are your thoughts on the leather skirt; too sexy for work?

I wear mine to work often too, paired with a more demure top half, its legit work wear! Although the two I own aren’t the ‘perfect’ leather skirt, just substitutes until I find the right one. You’re totally right, they’re hard to track down in the perfect shape and texture!

There’s nothing like a vintage skirt ! It seems you found the good one.
This ensemble looks also suitable for work: stripes, blazer and ballerinas !

i think stripes work perfectly with that skirt – and vintage, what a nice find! i never have much luck with vintage clothing here.

Love this outfit 100%. I wouldn’t wear a leather skirt to work personally but I work in the banking industry. If it was a more casual environment then maybe.

My leather skirt is vintage too (ages to find but can’t go wrong when you do). I usually wear mine with a breton or a grey or white tshirt and lately with art decor tshirts. I love the length of yours, mine is a little longer (I don’t like my knees! lol)

How funny! I was just talking to a friend about leather skirts and she pulled hers out. Vintage, of course! She’s had hers for more than 10 years and worn it to bits. Love how you managed to style it into a work outfit.
