Packing for a weekend getaway

Vintage boots, Karen Walker and necklace from Taipei, Topshop jeans, Sandro dress, Glassons cardigan, Kate Sylvester top

It’s not often that I go away for brief periods of time, as I usually find myself daydreaming about travelling around more of Europe, or setting foot in Asian countries I haven’t yet been too and focus most of my energies on saving up for that. So somewhat ironically, it’s these shorter trips that I find myself struggling to pack for, as I follow my mantra of packing light.

Heading up to Auckland this evening for a couple of nights, with little notion of what activities have been planned, my approach is simple – focusing on one colour palette, with a couple of options and some statement jewellery. In addition to what appears above, I’ll probably throw another dress or a blouse in at the last minute, as well as my trusty black blazer. See you in a couple days!

PS. Waiting for me in my emails when I got home was a little note that I had won the Endless Giveaway over at Wardrobe Quarry. It seems the gods are trying to keep me shopping!

I get that too, having more trouble finding what to pack for a few days away than a whole month or longer somewhere.
Love the textures of the jumper and cardi

I love this capsule wardrobe! Of course, if you travel a lot… the palette gets a bit monotonous….

I was packing mine in black, white, and red for so often when travelling to visit my family, they didn’t realize I actually wear other colors in real life for quite awhile!
