So, you might recall that I said I had some exciting things in store for 2015? Well, this was just one of the things I wanted to share with you all; a ‘Get Ready With Me’ video. This is the weekend edition; what I put on my face (although quite often, I’ll forgo the lipstick in favour of lip balm), and what I’m likely to throw on for a casual weekend brunch or “quick” stop to the shops. There’s no surprises really; a daytime smoky eye, a nude lip, stripes, and a quirky pair of flats.

It’s not until you try something new that you truly realise how much work and effort goes into it (and how quickly you can whittle away four hours editing one 7 minute video…), and after this weekend, I’ve developed some newfound respect for all the Youtubers out there who put some much love into their videos. I hope that you all enjoy watching this video just as much as I enjoyed making it! x

This is such a cool video!! I love watching your relatively simple makeup routine (glad i’m not the only one who pokes themselves in the eye hahaha!) and your really fresh faced look at the end is perfect. Made up, but very natural. May I ask how you find the l’oreal perfect match? To be honest I would have expected you to have a much more “designer” foundation seeing as you do love nice things (like a lot of us), but sometimes with makeup the cheaper ones can often be as good/better. I’m currently using Chanel vitalumiere and while it is GREAT, the cost is huge, especially since the bottles are tiiiiiny. Steph x

Hey Steph, glad you enjoyed it! LOL oh my god I am so clumsy. Like I usually end up messing up my eyeliner (hence why I just went for a pencil…) and I usually somehow end up poking the side of my nose with my mascara… haha.

I absolutely love the L’oreal true match foundation – it’s a nice formula (it’s not very thick, quite liquid-y) for someone like me who prefers light to medium coverage. I also have the Ellis Faas foundation and I prefer the L’oreal one. I’m only just getting into make up so I’m trying to explore drugstore options just because they are so much more affordable. I have my birthday coming up so I’m going to get my make up done at Mecca and thinking of trying the NARS foundation – have you used that? x

I haven’t tried the NARS foundation. I was a Lancome Tient Miracle die hard for a year or two, and then decided it was too makeupy for me, hence the Chanel which is really sheer. Sounds like the L’Oreal might actually be worth a try!! Looking fwd to see how your Mecca trip goes – you should document it for the blog for sure! Steph x

I’m an Aquarius too! Assuming you’re one based on those flats? Love the video 🙂

I use the NARS Sheer Glow foundation (in Punjab) and I love it. On my fifth bottle now… maybe. I’ve lost count. I used to buy it online because it was $45 in the US and Mecca was selling it for A$99 – I’m so glad that they’ve dropped the prices now! I don’t really need coverage so a little goes a long way. My only gripe is that it doesn’t come with the pump that you see in store – I had to buy the pump separately on eBay and always have to remember not to throw it out with the empty bottle 🙂

Yes I am an aquarius! Hmm.. I’ll have to keep an eye out for a pump first as it honestly sounds so high maintenance. You can buy them at MAC too can’t you though?
