Karen Walker dress (similar), Zara crochet knit jacket, Witchery ballet flats, Marc by Marc Jacobs bracelet, Alexander Wang emile tote

After spending a weekend wearing a monochromatic colour palette of black and white, it seemed fitting to go for an unexpected burst of brightness. While I am all for keeping a a rather neutral colour scheme in my wardrobe, sometimes you need to branch out a little, and step out of your comfort zone. This scarlet coloured dress does exactly that, holding what I believe to be the boldest spot in my wardrobe, alongside my pants of the same colour.

My long weekend in Canberra was both a lot of fun, yet extremely tiring. It was great getting to see my family who live in Australia, and be there for my little sister’s 21st birthday party. I don’t get to see her too often so much of the weekend was spent at the shops, drinking delicious wines in tandem with sour apple shots, gorging on too many chocolates and custard filled profiteroles, and watching Justin Bieber ‘Never say never’ (yes, yes I did). I’m hoping that next time it won’t be so long between trips!

This is very very very perfect. You’re making me wish I’d bought the jacket when I had the chance even when it didn’t look that good on me. Drat. But not drat. I wouldn’t have looked like that in it and it would have been worse if I’d bought it and it was sitting redundant. Please come and make over my wardrobe.

Red suits you so well. I’ve never actually been to Canberra, although I have friend who have recently moved there so will probably visit next year sometime.

It’s fun to change and wear different colors. Red is one of my favorites and it’s so beautiful on this dress. I really want to go Australia.

Oh I want everything that you’re wearing in this! Pretty sure red is considered a neutral, at least it is in my books.

I forced myself to get a red top this week. Yup, it was an arm twisting decision but surprisingly, the color was flattering. I can’t believe how different and chic each outfit is seeing that you only had to make do with 30 pieces.

wow, red suits you so well! gorgeous dress.

I agree, I live in monochrome colours too but I consider red to be something of a neutral, it goes with most colours like a neutral anyway, and looks amazing with black, white, grey, stripes… x
