The challenge is over

Glassons peplum top, Karen Walker skirt, Topshop blazer, Country Rd belt, Chloe sandals, Proenza Schouler PS11 bag

After thirty days of rotating the same thirty items, it’s refreshing to finally be able to have access to the full contents of my wardrobe. It was interesting to note how quickly my mindset changed to only include those 30 items I had allowed myself. Moving everything I could wear to one side of my wardrobe was quite possibly one of my better ideas.

I thought I would find myself wanting to cheat, but in the end, I was more than happy to stick within my thirty items. It was no worse than going on holiday with a limited wardrobe. I do wish I had chosen a couple of different items to those I did. While on paper it seemed cohesive, some garments just didn’t sit so well with others, and in the end it became apparent that I didn’t quite need five pairs of shoes. Who knew.

There was little difficulty in wearing a different outfit everyday – what I believe might be the biggest concern for some? and I think this speaks volumes about how cohesive my wardrobe appears to be, or at least the versatility of the items I chose. Some may have been similar due to me rotating one piece out in favor of another, although I didn’t find this to be a problem. I will say that after 21 days, I was ready to give the challenge up, and would have welcomed something new and fresh, although only in my stubbornness to ensure I wore something different on each of the 30 days.

In retrospect, it was really no different to living out of a suitcase, aside from the inability to add new purchases into the daily mix, and I am quite certain that on lengthy trips I tend to take fewer garments than I allowed myself in this challenge. Getting dressed in the morning was easier as my options were limited, and there wasn’t much that I truly missed being able to wear.

Aaah – such soft colours compared to the darker tones of the 30 day picks. I was wondering if you might reach for some of the 30 days items out of familiarity and comfort. Such lovely Chloe sandals.

Keep forgetting its almost summer over there, loving the white jacket with the softness of the shirt. And am dying over the backdrop – feel so homesick – the roof on the next door neighbours’ house is sooo kiwi!
