The essential cashmere sweater

Continuing the essentials series with the cashmere sweater; a piece that I’m seldom without, regardless of the season. I usually have one tucked away in my work tote, which I’ll throw on over my outfit – whether it’s a top and skirt/trouser or dress kind of a day – whenever the aircon gets a little too cool in the office. And in winter, it’s what I reach for most days, as I’m all about easy dressing.

My favourite or ‘go-to’ the last couple of years has been from Everlane; I’ve found that it has proven to be the best value for money that I’ve come across. Uniqlo and Country Road come across as too scratchy, and I’m yet to branch out into Grana (although I can confirm that their silk trousers are amazing).

I’ve always considered this a bit of an investment piece. Cashmere typically tends to sit on the pricier end of the scale – merino is definitely a great alternative for those not in the market to splurge – but it’s one that will last years and still feel as soft as anything, even after 100 cycles in the wash.

While I’m usually drawn to black, white, and all shades of grey inbetween, I’m a sucker for anything pink (as you can probably tell) and this antique rose shade that I picked up early last year had me at hello, and makes for a fun option to pair with more neutral shades. I just wrote about that too! I always go for the black, cream or grey jumpers, but this time I went with a beige one and it was actually way more flattering than I had anticipated. I just tried Boden, it is so soft and lush! I love it. Yet to try Everlane.
Also, that is good to know about Grana and their silk trousers, thanks!

    That rose colour is perfect!

Just wondering, how’s the pilling on the Everlane cashmere sweaters and cashmere sweaters in general?
Couldn’t tell if that was pilling on the first pic or if its just fuzzy.

    ps. love your posts 🙂
