Wardrobe Culling: Before the move

The past few weekends since finally booking my flight to Sydney have been dotted with old memories, as I rifle through boxes and give my wardobe that final push. With the knowledge that I’ll be carrying little more than 30kg, I’ve made a real effort to tackle my growing collection of shoes and cumbersome knit sweaters.

I’ve chipped away at my Lover collection, and parted with many things I never thought I would; but as I’ve learnt time and time again, never say never. Some of my most cherished pieces have found their way to the other side of the globe, to what I hope will be an equally loving home.

Like every other cull to my dwindling wardrobe, the common theme of neutrals such as black, white, pale grey and navy has prevailed, with the added vibrance of a warm, soft-toned red.

I’m hoping that in the coming months, I can begin to tackle the gaps in my wardrobe, which will become glaringly obvious once the cold starts to bite. On my list are: long sleeved silk blouses, light cashmere sweaters, a trench coat, a woolen knit scarf, and a new pair of chelsea boots – given my current pair are on their last legs.

I have a sneaky suspicion that my wardrobe is going to be bursting with colour by this time next year – there’s nothing more than a move to sunny shores to reinvigorate a girls lust for bright colours and unusual prints.

While I’ve managed to depart with most of the culled items of my wardrobe, you’ll find a select few pieces in the blog shop, including a few price drops!

eep – those seed espadrilles are amazing! i wish you were my size! also – not to be an instigator here but you could very easily slow-post a box of clothes over (maybe your winter stuff! hehe) though i personally love moves because it does force you to cull and goodness knows my wardrobe could use some of that. been meaning to get around to it but it’s just so much effort to photograph everything! good luck!

They are but unfortunately don’t look quite right on my feet 🙁 I’ve culled quite ruthlessly, probably would have kept a number of things if I could have but Sydney awaits and I’m sure you know just how good the shopping is there. I’ve already made up this ridiculous list of things I want to purchase, starting with a petal embellished clutch. Just the essentials, right? Haha
