What I’m wearing for Spring

For Spring, I’ve found myself wearing the same things on a semi-rotational basis. The transitional/in-between seasons are always my favourite. I love the opportunity to layer up slightly on top while baring my legs, the best of both worlds, in a sense. While I tend to gravitate towards the same styles all year round, my five favourites for Spring are:

All white. I was fond of white on white for Winter, and Spring seems to be singing the same tune. Starchy white denim, crisp sheer white blouses, and textured ivory structured skirts. I know wearing all white seems to ring alarm bells, a veritable magnet for stains, I’m yet to have any such disaster. I suppose this is the benefit of having two left feet, I make up for it with hand coordination.

Monochrome. Simple, yet again, but attainable, considering the bulk of my wardrobe is black and white. More specifically, a monochromatic ‘statement’ piece, paired with block colour.

Stripes. The perennial favourite; it’s timeless, a wardrobe must-have, and if you ask me, universally flattering. Since the weather has begun to warm up, I’ve started to pull out my striped tees, striped dresses, and in case it gets cold, a striped coat. Cliche? Maybe. Stripes to me have always been synonymous with the summer time, the inherent maritime ties of the breton seeming so much more apparent as sojourns to the seaside become a weekly, if not daily, occurrence.

Oversized knit sweaters. While it’s still just that little bit cold, my commitment to baring legs is winning out so a warm knit sweater is pretty much a necessity.

Men’s style loafers. Since purchasing those Phillip Lim ‘quinn’ loafers, I can’t seem to get enough. The design is simple, they’re functional, and they add an element of masculinity to even the most feminine of looks. I’ve been alternating them with my creamy Karen Walker jetts, which have a slightly softer feel.

I love all white outfits but as the clumsiest person in the world, they wouldn’t stay very white on me for long!

Great styles! I think layering is the only thing you can do in transitional seasons because the weather changes from cold in the moring to pretty warm in the afternoon. =)
