What florals are to spring, stripes are to..?

Probably about as cliche as wearing florals in the Spring is wearing a combination of nautical-themed or coloured garments as warmer months roll around – either way, I find it virtually unavoidable due to my fondness for both stripes and the colour navy. As you can probably tell, it was pretty windy, but that wasn’t enough to get me to put on tights, albeit I did opt for a coat when further time outdoors was called for. I’m also quite sure that my legs aren’t so lily white so short a time after returning from Europe.

I’ve been spending the better part of this week carefully trying to avoid processed sugars as much as possible, in an effort to weaken my addiction to sugar. Unfortunately I’m not doing as well as I would like, succumbing to sweet treats at a baby shower yesterday and a couple of chocolates (post-run mind you) while at my grandparents place this morning. It probably doesn’t help that I have some leftover apricot, coconut and white chocolate balls tucked away in the fridge – fingers crossed that I develop slightly more resolve during the week!

I find that I wear stripes a lot too (more than florals). Last week I wore them a couple of times, and thought to myself – you might want to mix it up a little! I guess they are just so easy to wear, especially teamed with a great blazer, the way you have done šŸ™‚

I think stripes are a year-round trend! although I’d wear florals all year round too so I’m not the best authority. I love this outfit, the stripes look great with a white skirt x

You always look so good in navy, so it’s no surprise you’re so fond of it! I love how chic & French this look is, I always think you do this effortless yet smart kind of style so well. I love the blazer too, the fabric is gorgeous & it fits perfectly!
I tried to cut out bad sugars myself about a year ago, but never got anywhere with it, my willpower wasn’t strong enough to overcome my cravings – it is so hard to do! So I know how you feel & I wish you lots of luck in finding the resolve to do it! šŸ™‚
