Skinstitut Expert Replenish Squalane Cleansing Oil Review
Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre Review
Klorane Dry Shampoo Review Australia

It was a little hard to distill my favourites down to three this month. I’ve been shifting away from a “lean” beauty routine to one that’s more nuanced with additional layers. Essentially I’ve added in steps beyond cleanser and moisturiser for skincare, and been switching up my makeup to enjoy more of my old favourites. Also, consider this a little peek into our “main” upstairs bathroom – one of the spaces I’m looking forward to sharing more of very, very soon.

Skinstitut Expert Replenish Squalane Cleansing Oil

I was recently treated to a hydra-facial at Skinstitut Head Office (PR), and hands down of all the products, this was the one I couldn’t stop thinking about. Not even kidding when I say it was on my mind throughout the entire experience, it just felt that luxurious. Fragrance is highly personal, but I loved the soft vanilla scent which to me felt both addicting and soothing. It has quite a viscous texture, and while I wouldn’t say this is my ‘number one’ when it comes to breaking down makeup, it does a pretty good job. I’d recommend using a muslin or wash cloth in order to ensure all makeup is removed. One thing I did appreciate is that my eyes didn’t sting or burn; a common problem with many of my most beloved cleansers. One of the things that sold this for me? It contains squalane; a hero ingredient in many products I use daily, because it mimics your skin’s natural oils, making it an effective hydrator, especially for those with dehydrated skin. Final notes? Complexion doesn’t feel greasy or oily after use, just soft and clean.

Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre

An ultimate multi-tasker, you can use this creme as a primer, a hydrating mask, a moisturiser, a cleanser (!!) The scent is soft, gentle and comforting; to me, it’s like catching up with an old friend. Clearly, one of those products which I’ve found myself going back to after a few months apart. The consistency is quite thin yet a little goes a long way. And despite this lightness, I get a serious hydration boost whenever I apply it, leaving my skin feeling supple and soft. A French pharmacy favourite, and for good reason. Probably wouldn’t surprise you to know I have not one, but two back ups stashed in my vanity. Yep, it’s that good.

Klorane Dry Shampoo

Not necessarily the oat milk infused version (though it is excellent), but Klorane Dry Shampoo across the board. Since having kids, I’ve found myself washing my hair less. And I can’t tell if this is a result of aging, changes from pregnancy and postpartum, or just my hair getting used to less frequent washings. At any rate, to help stretch things out, I heavily rely on Klorane’s Dry Shampoo. I like that it doesn’t leave a strong or heavy white cast like some other dry shampoo’s can (they also have a specially formulated version for brunettes), and my hair doesn’t feel crunchy or stiff. It subdues the oil and shine, while adding a bit more body at the roots. Couldn’t ask for more!
