Karen Walker polka dot dress (similar), Celine trio (and it’s on sale too!!), Charlotte Olympia kitty flats

Bare legged and jacketless, braving the winds of an icy Southerly; now there’s a Wellington welcome that I’ve not yet forgotten. Some things never change. Like my ever-growing appetite for angry coastlines with crashing waves, the need to eat salted caramel everything, or my incapability to leave Karen Walker empty-handed.

Even with a lifetime of memories in Wellington, it’s still possible to uncover something new. For me, it’s generally the coffee shops I never knew existed, or the winding staircases which hide large open spaces and intimate speakeasy’s; or as luck would have it on my last day before returning home, the discovery of a stairway into the sea.

As it were, I couldn’t resist taking advantage of an empty beach, rolling waves, and the newest addition to my Summer wardrobe (it didn’t take long for me to ‘break’ from the wish list); a cloud-like polka dot confection of a dress. And that beautiful, big, blue.

That dress & your trio are like twins separated at birth!! They look amazing together. I can just picture the trio looking so beautiful against a crisp white summer dress too, come the hot months.

Ah if only you’d included Auckland in your little visit – would have been lovely to meet up!

The guides you’ve done on Welly are wonderful too, you’ve really inspired me to book a visit sometime, it has been too long! (the last time I was down was a little after Te Papa opened – I know, totally shocking lol)

Love the outfit here too, suits the location to a tee 🙂

P.S. No rush on the emails – I absolutely know what it’s like to be swamped and have that little niggly feeling I should be attending to my inbox…

What a wonderful picture you paint here. Melbourne is much the same, (in my opinion) we don’t have much to do here, no grand sights except for the usual manmade ones but one thing we do have are cafes and restaurants, constantly ever-changing. A walk down a laneway is always an adventure because something always ends up popping up magically or maybe because you didn’t notice it the last time!
