Every winter I find myself falling into a routine. I have the same few recipes on repeat, my evenings and weekends comprise of the same few activities – none of which involve being outdoors for extended periods of time, and I cycle through the same small number of garments which keep me warm and see me through those three dark, cold months.

More so than ever have I fallen back on a palette almost completely devoid of colour, opting for black, white, and the many shades of grey, with the occasional leopard spot making a small appearance. You could say that there’s been a casual re-evaluation of the classics of my wardrobe; those much-loved pieces which are worn day in and day out, that you feel almost lost without when they’re left at the drycleaners or are in the wash.

My current favourites include velvets, soft cottons, leather, and angora (plenty of it too) – the latter of which has been virtually key to surviving the icy blasts of wind that seem to follow every step outdoors, and feels like being enveloped in a fluffy cloud.

Such a chic mix of wardrobe staples that could be mixed and matched a bunch of ways. Still totally lovin’ that angora sweater. 🙂

Well monochrome is a huge trend so points there – but I agree with you, the more high quality basics in neutral you have, the more outfits you have. Make you wardrobe work for you! Love the Leopard heels #swoon.

I really like all the combinations you have pictured – especially the first. Those heels are a knock out! Would love to hunt down something similar, but lower heel 🙂
