Lover the Label ‘Nocturnal’ AW’13

With Lover’s new Autumn/Winter collection starting to hit the shop floor, I thought it was only apt that I share with you some of my favourite pieces from ‘Nocturnal’. Inspired by Tony Scott’s movie, The Hunger, the collection is sexy and eerily gothic, in the form of laser cut leather pieces and body hugging lace dresses. As has become to be expected over the past couple of years, Susien and Nic have given past season silhouettes an update, seamlessly integrating these styles into their new collection. All the key elements are there, sexy lace bodycon dresses, oversized snuggly knit jumpers, flirty a-line mini dresses, an abundance of leather and of course something I always look forward to, an unexpected take on leopard print.

You can probably guess that I’m already devising a plan to acquire a number of these pieces, with a laser cut leather skirt and that cute a-line leopard dress among the ones fronting the list. Besides, as far as I’m concerned, lace anything deserves a place in my wardrobe, especially when it’s Lover. Needless to say, that asymmetrical lace skirt needs to get into my wardrobe, stat.

Wow I love all of these! Especially the white lace looks (top middle and bottom left) and the leopard dress…which is rather odd for me because I’m not one to usually wear white (or lace…)

the asymmetrical skirt and dress are so refreshing! I feel like lace has been around for some time, and it’s nice to see a new silhouette with it

I love that red one but not sure how practical it is in terms of getting cost per wear

That really is a gorgeous lookbook. Loving the middle dress its really unique. It has the cinched in waist, but dropped like 20s, then the oriental neck…love it! xx
