A little bit of bedroom inspiration

Being my favourite room in the house, today I thought I’d share a little bit of bedroom inspiration with you all. If you couldn’t tell from the pictures above (or from my very full Pinterest board), there’s a few common threads. Linen sheets; oatmeal, grey and blush pink hues; big fluffy pillows; oversized blankets you can snuggle under in the winter; and unobtrusive prints which keep the space feeling calm. Our own bedroom isn’t quite so Pinterest-worthy, but I’ve certainly taken quite a few of these elements and incorporated them over the years. Sitting above our dresser is a calming print of the ocean – it’s not anything special, but I do love waking up to it each morning. I’ve purchased a couple sets of linen sheets; truthfully they’re not the ideal situation for us given we have a long haired cat who sheds e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e, but I love the broken in feel of linen that you don’t quite get with a cotton sheet set. Finally, though it’s summer here, we have a couple of enormous mohair/wool throws for our bed during the colder months – I absolutely freeze in winter, so I rely on these when it gets cold! What type of accents do you like in your bedroom? x
