My Black Friday/Cyber Weekend Sale Purchases (2022)

Lover Arden Sandals and what I bought from the Black Friday sales

Black Friday and Cyber Weekend sales this year have been wild. Wild. So much so that I was able to tick off *most* of the items on my wishlist, along with a couple of extras. My approach to these sales doesn’t tend to vary much with each passing year. I use it as an opportunity to purchase Christmas gifts (planning this early comes in handy!); buy a few closet staples for the season ahead; maybe get a couple makeup bits to play with; and finally, to pick up any home bits we might need (which this year, was quite a few!). And always, always approaching it with a firm list.

I can’t help but stress this every year, but if you gave these sales a miss, that’s great. Boxing Day is less than a month out – the discounts are always better then – and another sale will be right around the corner.

For those still shopping around, I have listed all the best offers for Cyber Week HERE, many of which are ending today.

My Black Friday Purchases

b+ab single breasted tweed jacket | On the very bottom of my wishlist as a *maybe*, this just so happened to be one of the first purchases I made. I’ve been wanting a tweed jacket for some time, but always felt something in a longer length would suit me better. Long torso problems. The role of this jacket was to add a Parisian elegance and refinement to simple outfits. Plus that luxurious texture. I managed to get this on sale, with an additional 20% off. Safe to say I’m a very happy gal.

St Agni green knit tank | This tank technically wasn’t included in their Black Friday sale, but I had a voucher from being on their mailing list to put towards an in-store purchase. A no-brainer for me the moment I tried it on. A classic cut, comfortable rib knit, in an alluring and exquisite colour. It’s murky yet dramatic, and somehow grounding. One that I felt would fit in quite seamlessly with my existing basics for the season ahead. I opted for the size S and have a little bit of room (which we love!).

Wittner cognac slide sandals (also here) | On my wishlist for the season ahead was a pair of tan slides. My previous pair only managed to last a season (major disappointment), and I’d been struggling to commit to anything. I’d originally thought I would end up going for this deeper chocolate d’orsay sandal, but these Wittner ones were such a good dupe for my YSL slides, that I couldn’t resist. I’ve been wearing them almost daily since purchasing them last week, and they’re great. Soft leather, much more comfortable than the designer version. The footbed has some padding to it, and these haven’t really rubbed my feet much. I went with my usual size.

Oui Mais Non black leather belt | My closet had been lacking a stiff, structured black belt, and in the lead up to the sales I’d settled on adding this one from OMN. I snapped it up for 15% off. I’m especially drawn to the contrast white stitching, which I think will look really sharp when paired with darker coloured trousers.

Ghd curve® creative curl wand hair curler | It’s taken me years to finally splurge on a new styling tool for my hair. But after getting my hair professionally done for my sisters wedding, I could see the benefits of an actual hair curler. Up until now, I’d been relying on my my straighteners to give me beauty waves. This is so much better. I’m a total convert. Not only do my waves/curls look better, but I find they last more than a day too. Thrilled!

Lover Montana Maxi Dress | Not exactly on my shopping list for Black Friday, but technically on my wishlist, so giving myself a pass here. This dress, a white, floaty, ethereal maxi for summer. Loved this on the model but it didn’t work on me so I’ll be sending this one back, sadly.

Lover sandals in black & white | In the same vein as the previous Lover purchase, I also ended up ordering t-bar block heeled sandals in black and white. Done with the loose intention of sending one pair back. I figured black was the safe option but white would be nice, especially against a tan. These have arrived, they’re comfortable, and I can’t decide between the two so have decided to keep them both. Personally I like the idea of having an #oldceline moment with mismatched sandals. Thoughts? Went with my usual shoe size.

Tarte Sweet Tarte Eyeshadow Palette | My fun purchase, to satisfy a current craving to wear a was of colour all over the lids. Loved that not only does this have a good selection of brights (mostly metallics/shimmers), but also your classic neutrals too. So, a safe option to combine the two. The size of it looks massive, and honestly, the price is unreal. 40% off today too for Cyber Monday!

Spectrum makeup brushes | One of the final items I purchased was a set of 30 (!!) makeup brushes. I’ve been using the same brushes for close to a decade now, and on many of them the handles have split. With the kids, I’m mindful of having things like this around, and given they’re a little worse for wear, I thought it was time to look at replacing them. I’d originally looked at getting this Spectrum collab with KJH, but wasn’t so sure on the olive colour. I found this muted nude set from the Ash K Holm collab on the Spectrum website, and decided to go for it. More brushes than in the KJH set, and also slightly cheaper too!

What Else I Got & What I Didn’t Buy

Keeping this short and sweet, but there are a few other bits I managed to snag from my list. A new oven and range hood from Falcon for our renovated kitchen. This was a big purchase, and seeing both items were 20% off it made sense to make that purchase now.

I also bought Christmas presents. Servingware (ITRH are my faves!), books, kids toys. Mostly items for the kids, as many of the things I’d bookmarked to buy were 20-40% off.

Two things for the home I didn’t end up buying? A kettle (have settled on this one), and toaster. We’d originally wanted to buy this one from Alessi, but hadn’t picked up on the fact that it’s made of resin. In person, it has a bit of a “plastic” look, which didn’t jive with me. Instead, we’re opting for a variable temp kettle from Smeg, which didn’t go on sale. As for the toaster, it only ended up being $10 off, so I’m hanging out for the Boxing Day sales in the hopes it is discounted further. Crossing fingers!
