My Five Favourite Pre-Christmas Sale Finds Worth Investing In

Top 5 Sale Finds Worth Investing In

Black Friday may be over, but there’s still so many sales running – perfect if you’re still on the hunt for some gifts for loved ones, or a treat for yourself ahead of Christmas. As I’ve said time and time again, sale season is always a good opportunity to really build on your existing wardrobe, and invest in a high quality basic that you’ll have for years to come. So with that in mind, I thought I’d share five classic wardrobe staples I’ve spotted on sale, which would be a perfect addition to any closet.

J Brand Lillie High Rise Crop Skinny Jeans

#1: J Brand Lillie High-Rise Crop Skinny Jeans

I can’t tell you how many pics I have saved on my phone of these jeans. I spent the majority of the year obsessing over them – in both the black and the white – even popping into David Jones to try them on once or twice. As far as premium denim brands go, J Brand is one of the most reliable for quality, comfort, and longevity. What I love about these is the super skinny fit, the thick stretch denim, and the visible button fly. It’s all in the details, right? I actually took the risk and bought these a couple months back before my belly popped, as they have quite a fair amount of give, and I figured with time they *should* fit post-pregnancy. If you’re petite or have a shorter inseam like I do, these cropped jeans will cut off at the perfect point, without any need for alterations. Win-win!

#2: I Love Mr Mittens Cropped Cable Knit Sweater

My second pick is a beautiful knit sweater – anything made from 100% natural fibres. I thought I’d highlight this I Love Mr Mittens knit in particular, as I think the cut and style is perfect if you love wearing high waisted everything (like me!). The cabled design on the front is such an interesting detail that adds depth and dimension to the style, plus the oversized balloon sleeves are so puffy and on-trend, yet something I continue to see being a winner in the years to come due to the cosy factor. The best part is, being cropped, this is a really easy style to wear tucked into jeans, skirts or trousers, without adding too much bulk.

Madewell Kat Chelsea Boot

#3: Madewell Kat Chelsea Boot

Boots are an autumn/winter necessity, and I always take advantage of the Northern Hemisphere sales to see if I can snap up a great pair for an even better price. The Kat Chelsea Boots are one of Madewell’s best sellers, and it’s not hard to see why. It’s a classic style which will never date, but in the black suede with wooden stacked heel, they just feel a little bit more special. I find that Chelsea boots work really well when paired with black tights, but similarly look great with jeans, or a bit of ankle showing and a midi skirt. They’re currently 25% off with the code “YULELOVEIT”; this is site wide too, in case you were planning on picking up any staples!

Staud Off Shoulder Elio Dress

#4: Staud Off The Shoulder Elio Dress

I mostly did my dash during the Black Friday sales, but this dress from Staud has been seriously tempting me over the past few weeks. I first spotted it in the white, but the black – which comes off almost like a navy – is even more divine. The silhouette is what really sells this one for me. Fitted at the bodice, with a full, feminine skirt, and little puffy off shoulder sleeves. This is the kind of thing I’d reach for throughout the summer, worn with some delicate strappy flat sandals, and hair worn loose for a more casual look. Then, to dress it up, I’d opt for some high heeled sandals, a bold red lip, and slick my hair back in a bun.

La Collection Adeline Wool Coat

#5: La Collection Adeline Wool Coat

Wrapping things up with another autumn/winter staple – a timeless wool coat in a classic colour. As I mentioned before, I feel like the mid-season and end of year sales are always a good opportunity to think ahead, and fill in those gaps you might have in your closet. Good quality coats always tend to be a bit of an investment, so getting one on sale is never a bad idea! This coat from La Collection is utterly divine; the simple silhouette will again be a winner for years to come, and the camel hue is a good neutral that’ll pair well with anything already in your closet. The simple one button closure is a nice touch, and I feel like this would look great cinched in at the waist too, with a wide belt if you were so inclined. It also has a silk lining, which adds that extra bit of luxury to the piece.
