New in my wardrobe: Everlane Glove Boot Reknit

New in my wardrobe, the Everlane Glove Boot Reknit New in my wardrobe, the Everlane Glove Boot Reknit

Clearly, my autumn/winter wardrobe planning is in full swing. I’ve been making good on my resolve to add fewer, but better items to my wardrobe, so took the opportunity to snag a couple of *forever* wishlist pieces from the end of year sales. A pair of wool felted trousers from Acne Studios; a super oversized rollneck sweater from Babaa. And most recently, this Everlane Glove Boot Reknit in the bone hue*.

I’ve still got 5.5 weeks of pregnancy left (give or take), so I’m thinking more about how I’ll be utilising what I have (that still fits) over anything new for the most part. But, that hasn’t stopped me from mapping out a colour palette. And if it’s not quite obvious, neutrals are going to be a big feature again this year. Though for 2020, to keep things feeling fresh, I’m hoping to inject cooler-toned browns, different shades of camel, and focus more on oatmeal hues.

We’ve had a few dips in the weather already, which has given me the excuse to slip into the Everlane Glove Boot Reknit a little earlier than anticipated. I’ve paired them with mini dresses and a cardigan, as well as midi-length skirts and oversized tees. Just like their flat cousin, these have been comfortable from the word ‘go’, and I’m curious to see how the milky tone fares after considerable wear. My black flats are easy enough to wipe down, so I’m hoping that these will mirror that experience.

I’m thinking I’ll probably share an in-depth review once I’ve had a chance to truly smash the pavement with these boots. Sizing wise, they fit true to size. I went with my usual, a US9.5.

For autumn/winter, I’m planning to pair these with straight legs trousers in camel, black and ivory; closing the gap where I’d usually have ankles on show. During the transitional period, I’ll opt to pair them with more feminine silhouettes. I love a good juxtaposition, plus it gets me more mileage out of my winter staples. The fitted shape of the Everlane Glove Boot Reknit creates a seamless line along the leg (especially being not too far removed from my natural skin tone), which elongates my frame in a very flattering way.

I’ll admit, I’ve truly missed sharing small closet updates like this. As I refine my style further this year (and adjust to my changing body), I’d like to give little glimpses into key pieces each season, as well as the rationale behind each addition.

I want these so bad but I’m concerned about them getting dirty. How are they holding up?

It’s still summer here in Sydney so I haven’t had much chance to really wear them beyond three wears. I haven’t got a single mark on them yet though. I have the black reknit day gloves and find those don’t mark up at all, and are really easy to wipe down so I’m anticipating the same with these. I’ll probably share a more detailed review in a few months time 🙂

I just ordered these in the same gorgeous bone color. I haven’t received them yet. With your time wearing them, would you say that any denim color has transferred onto the top ankle area? I’m wondering if denim dye will transfer onto the ReKnit fabric…

Hi! I never wore then with blue wash denim so can’t speak for that. No issues with any of my faded black jeans, but they’re all colourfast. I believe there’s a spray you can get which will make jeans colourfast if you’re worried! 🙂
