Worn to death

Petit Bateau stripe top, girl. by Band of Outsiders skirt, Karen Walker trench coat, Charlotte Olympia kitty flats, Alexander Wang devere bag

This outfit isn’t anything that you haven’t seen before, a stripe and skirt combo and my beloved kitty flats. I’m the type of person that will thrash something to death if I really love it, only deciding to part with it when it has well and truly seen better days. In the past, I’m pretty sure I have worn shoes until they have holes in the soles, and even then, I’ll try and wear them a bit longer – now, I’d probably take them to the cobbler to get resoled in the hopes of breathing new life into them.

It’s been a rather gloomy weekend, providing the perfect backdrop to go to the movies, and spend some time relaxing at home (although when don’t I do this?!). I’ve been pretty rugged up in tights and a coat when leaving the house. Considering how lacking my winter wardrobe is, I’m not quite sure how I survived winter this year, and am glad that summer is nearly upon us. It’s inspired me to do a bit of forward planning, so I can take advantage of the NH sales come Christmas-time. Top of my list? Plain, semi fitted long sleeved tops in soft fabrics and knit jumpers in colours like navy, black, burgundy and cream. Groundbreaking? Not exactly, but I can’t help but crave a bit of simplicity.

Totally live in my striped long sleeved tees too. Especially good for those ‘four seasons’ days where the weather changes from sunny and warm to rainy and cold and back again.

I have no kitty flats to go with mine however! Oh man they are so gorgeous 🙂

i actually get a lot of wear out of the clothes i post on my blog. most of them are worn to death too, though i try my best not to repeat things too often but that’s inevitable (unless i somehow win the lottery.. hee)

love your ‘worn to death look’ – mostly because it looks great on you and you have figured out what works best on a day to day basis. love the devere bag so much!

I’ve found that I’ve opting for the basics a lot more too. Simple. Comfortable outfits. Not really playing it ‘safe’ but just enjoying the more laid back less structured look 🙂
