I doubt it’s any secret by now that I’m not overly fond of winter. I spend the majority of those three cold winter months scouring the internet for sandals, sleeveless blouses, swimsuits and sunglasses, all the while daydreaming of clear skies and sandy beaches.

This year, I’m getting a head start on my summer wishlist – I learnt my lesson last year, when it finally came time to head to the beach and I realised I was without a pair of sandals. As you can imagine, loafers and sand don’t go so well together, and it wasn’t until summer had ended that I finally managed to find an appropriate pair.

At the top of my “summer” wishlist? A new pair of sunglasses. I’ve had my current pair for over three years now, and while I love them, I can’t help but want something new. I’ve taken to the internet for a bit of inspiration, although narrowing it down is always difficult. Do I go for a classic style, like a pair of Ray Bans, or something a little more interesting, like a pair of baroque Prada sunglasses? Or, should I take the cat eye shape to the extreme with a Tom Ford pair? With so many different styles to choose, I’m glad I have a few months up my sleeve before I need to nail down a decision, but then again, I suppose half the fun is in trying them on!

Tough choice because they’re all so cool in their own way. Looking forward to seeing what you eventually end up with. 🙂

I like the cat eyes and the Ray Bans. I think the Ray Bans are a good classic to rotate with other pairs, e.g. oversize, tortoise shell, if you have them. But I have a pretty impressive pair of fakes haha. Great for throwing around in bags etc. BUT… you live in NZ… it’s gotta be Karen Walkers??! I like the cats-eye-ish pair with the cutout trim on top and the number ones (on top of the helter skelters and number sixes, which I already own).

Did you see the first lot of Lover has dropped already? I think I’d hold out for the rosebud halter dress or maybe the light blue rosebud dress but not sure what else.

I know what you mean. It’s crazy over here too. The minute the warm summer hits, there’s hardly a single pair of shorts, sandals or even an electric fan to be found! I feel like if you’re not prepared a season before, you’re totally screwed. I’m with Kristin about the sunnies. I like the cat eyes and Rayban wayfarers.

Oooo it’s a tough one isn’t it? I love a classic Ray Ban, but I feel a bit like if you plump for them you have to have two pairs of sunglasses – one classical (the Ray Bans) and something a bit more exciting – like some of the pairs you’ve picked above. If only we could all have wardrobes of sunglasses a la Miranda Kerr and Olivia Palermo. X
