I’ve definitely gotten into a bit of a rhythm when it comes to my outfits of late. Slowly but surely, I’m outgrowing more and more pieces, which has left me with a smaller – but manageable – number of items to work with. Most days, I’m repeating something you’ve already seen. The black tiered maxi dress from Matteau which has been one of the best spring/summer wardrobe investments I’ve made recently. The Saint Laurent Nu Pieds I’m wearing above; fast shaping up to be my most worn shoe of the summer. The fitted maternity skirt I purchased early on in my pregnancy.

One thing I’m still yet to give up? My love of slip skirts. Oh, and a good polka dot. An easy pairing for me has been wearing this spotted midi skirt with a simple tee, and slip on sandals. The key to making this work during pregnancy is to opt for skirts with a stretchy waistband. You have to pull it up a little higher than usual, but I’ve found it works really well, and is a great way to make a non-maternity piece bump-friendly.

You may have noticed that I’m also sticking to the three-colour rule; white, navy and black on this occasion. I’m a fan of more understated looks as it is, and the subtle navy hue, combined with the polka dots is what makes this rather basic outfit seem a bit more interesting. The milky – almost white – hue of my sandals draws from the polka dots, and the tee ties it all in. As for the bag? I opted for something slouchy, that I could throw over my shoulder. Black and navy might not be a traditional colour combo to go for, but I personally feel like it comes off looking elevated when done right.
