Sezane Vue Sur Mer Spring Collection Top Picks

Sezane Vue Sur Mer Spring Collection Top Picks

Not gonna lie, it almost feels a little like there’s a new Sezane collection every other week. But as usual, the beautiful imagery is so captivating, that I couldn’t help but have a peek. And dream about our next seaside escape…

I’ve been mulling over these pieces over the past few days and I’m still 50/50 on whether I buy anything, solely as I’m still waiting for my last items to arrive (review incoming…!). Anyway, let’s chat through my picks…

I’m a neutrals girl through and through, so trust me when I say this pick surprised even me. I love the little ditsy floral Ade up of mostly blue flowers and daisies. Visually there’s a lot going on with the eye-catching print, which would make this a “hero” piece in a closet like mine. Something I’d pare back with easy basics. A white tee or little cami; a cardigan half buttoned up and loosely tucked in. Also love the cinched waist. This type of high-waisted style works really well on my silhouette, which is probably one of the reasons I was so drawn to these.

These types of tops are everywhere right now, and I really loved Sezane’s take on it. The brick red hue is really pretty and again, something I’d look at as a statement piece. Albeit a more subtle choice than the shorts. It reminds me a little of something that you might get from Faithfull the Brand, but with a Parisian twist. Also on-trend is the square neckline. I personally find these really flattering, and they create the perfect backdrop to stack a couple of beautiful necklaces. It’s also a linen/cotton mix, which always appeals to me from a composition standpoint, and the little bow at the centre back is a nice feminine touch.

It took me a split second to recognise that I already have a skirt eerily similar to this in my closet, from a now-defunct Australian designer. There’s a lot to like; the pockets on the hip, the matching leather tie at the waist, and the wrap detail across the front. And the terracotta colour is just so pretty – I mean, just imagine that paired effortlessly with our women’s knit over at mīere the label. Given this is a leather piece, the price (at $225 USD) seems really reasonable. If I didn’t already own something that looked so alike, I’d probably be placing an order for this skirt alone.

For someone who doesn’t do much colour, it’s been the common thread across all my favourites from Sezane’s latest collection. And the Dido shirt…. well, what a beauty. I often find that collared shirts can feel a little fussy around the neckline, especially when you through a print into the mix. It can be a lot going on, so the absence of the collar really works for this style. Especially given the heavier nature of the fabric. The sleeves seem to be cut really wide giving it a boxy element, which in combination with the large aspect check in the linen/cotton mix has some serious visual appeal.

Olive and khaki tones have been dominating my wardrobe of late. Which is a big shift as I’ve typically steered clear of greens as it’s never been a colour I’ve felt particularly drawn to. Funny that, given how those earthy hues have felt like such a natural extension of my colour palette. This final pick is a combination of the colour, the vintage floral print, and the pintuck detail across the waist – something I see as being really flattering. Plus I just adore that “statement” ruffle detail on th hip too. Very French. Also, just how cute would it look with the matching Melia blouse?!
