It’s after nine o’clock on Saturday night, and rather than unwinding with a nice glass of red, I’m tucked up in bed, tea in hand, as I obsess over the playlist for our engagement party; and with just three weeks to go until we celebrate our future together with all our loved ones, it is all just coming up faster than I’d like. And, I’m not exactly playing it safe either; it’s a hip-hop/R&B/rap/ACME-inspired mix with some classic Dre, Notorious B.I.G, with a bit of Kendrick Lamar and The Weeknd thrown in for good measure.

That aside – Luke and I have been making the most of Spring (and the warmer weather – 25 deg today, can you believe?!) by tackling some of the things on our to-do list, like finally deciding on a new car, locking in a trip to Europe and the US next year, and decluttering our living space the KonMari way. Okay, maybe that last one is just me…

I’m finishing up the final pages of Marie Kondo’s informational – if not sometimes preachy – book on the magic of tidying, and the joy that living in a home surrounded by only your most treasured belongings. For anyone hoping to reduce the number of material possessions in their home, and develop a more positive attitude towards discarding the things they seldom use, don’t need, or don’t feel joy towards, it’s certainly worth picking up for those small lessons alone. I’ve jotted down the odd note while working my way through the 200-odd pages, and will look to share my thoughts on Kondo’s method in the coming weeks.

And on the topic of things that give me joy, the above oversized sweater and midi skirt combo has been a favourite of mine this past week or so, and perhaps one that I wish I didn’t have to give up so soon into Spring – although the ability to head to the beach for some sun and some surf in mid-September is definitely a welcome treat!

Yayy, such a fun look! And that’s going to be quite the playlist, hehe!
I hope you don’t go to the US/Europe when I’m in Australia – although we still aren’t sure of exact dates yet 😉

Haha I know. Luke vetoed Justin Bieber which was a little disappointing…. I think we’ve decided to go for a mix of hip hop and rock music to try and appease all but will see how we go. I also think that Spotify would be an easier option!

I’m going to the US and Europe from 29 June to 24 July so in the height of summer. I’ll be in NYC for a few days so perhaps we can catch up if you’re free! x

Those shoes….that sweater….gorgeous. You have so much to look forward to and I wish you a joyful engagement party in three weeks time. Your playlist sounds more than fine.
