My husband and I adore the south coast. Having previously stayed at Bangalay Luxury Villas (which we loved), we knew we couldn’t pass up the chance to stay at their sister site, Anglesea by Bangalay, should the opportunity arise. My sister’s wedding, in Berry, presented the perfect opportunity as we were also travelling with my in-laws and needed a place to stay that would accommodate six of us.

OUR STAY AT ANGLESEA BY BANGALAY

As anticipated, the accommodation was inviting, cosy, and coastal. A natural reflection of the surrounding environment, with a view out to the water from the upstairs kitchen window. Located a short drive from Bangalay’s Villas, no need to visit reception for check-in as instructions to access the home are texted to you at your expected arrival time.

The home is spacious. Spread out across two floors, with an upstairs and downstairs lounge; cosy fireplace for the cooler months; large dining table (and outdoor dining options), and a kitchen that most home cooks only dream of.

We got a little unlucky with the weather; blustery winds that dashed our dreams of nipping down to the beach for a quick splash. But we did take advantage of pool access at Bangalay Villas themselves (where we had it all to ourselves!).

It has all the amenities you could possibly need. TV, WIFI, washing machine and dryer, full kitchen with some condiments, walk-in pantry, and gas barbecue (which of course, we used!). Locally sourced treats along with a guide to the area are the cherry on top.

Part of the appeal in staying at Anglesea by Bangalay is the location. Close to wineries, the beach, and delicious food. All while feeling a little like a local. The concept of having a home away from home, where you can relax, spread out, and have some serious down time.

Best if… you’re travelling with family or friends, or want lots of space to stretch out.
