Fragrance Christmas Gift Guide 2022

Fragrance Christmas Gift Guide Jo Malone Midnight and Musk Cologne
Carolina Herrera Good Girl Gold Fantasy and Paco Rabanne Fame EDP
Luxury Fragrance Tom Ford Lost Cherry and Bitter Peach EDP

One of the things I love about fragrance is that it has this tangible ability to evoke such strong memories. Certain scents will bring on a wave of nostalgia; this warm and fuzzy feeling, as I relive those special moments through my favourite perfumes. It’s for that reason that I love it as a gift to give. It can feel quite intimate, too, so always worth going in with an idea of what types of scents the recipient enjoys. Or a top-up of a favourite is always welcome, I find! Failing that, a reed diffuser or a luxury candle are a safe choice.

So today I’m letting you in on my scent wardrobe; the fragrances I’m currently cherishing, as well as a curated edit of some of my other favourites, and perfumes which are currently on my personal wishlist.

FRAGRANCE GIFT GUIDE

Jo Malone Midnight Musk & Amber Cologne | Top note of Juniper, middle note of Amber, and base note of Midnight Musk. This is Christmas in a bottle. It has a delectable undertone of honeyed sweetness from the amber, with a slight powdery finish from the musk. It’s always worth checking out the Jo Malone Christmas collection; the White Moss and Snowdrop Candle or one of these lovely baubles would make a beautiful gift.

Carolina Harrera Good Girl Gold Fantasy EDP | Top notes of Coffee and Almond, middle notes of Jasmine, Sambac & Tuberose, and base notes of Cacao & Tonka Bean. This starts off spicy, but it’s the floral bouquet of Jasmine that is the shining star for me.

Paco Rabanne Fame EDP | Top notes of Mango & Bergamot, middle notes of Jasmine & Olibanum, and base notes of Vanilla & Sandalwood. Youthful, vibrant and fruity, this smells like a tropical island holiday. It opens with the sweet aroma of mango, and on the dry down you’re hit with the sweet jasmine, and a soft, musky base.

Tom Ford Bitter Peach EDP | Top notes of Peach, Blood Orange, Cardamom & Heliotrope; middle notes of Rum, Cognac, Davana & Jasmine; base notes of Indonesian Patchouli Leaf, Vanilla, Sandalwood, Tonka Bean, Benzoin, Cashmeran, Styrax, Labdanum & Vetiver. Tom Ford fragrances are always deliciously complex, with an aroma that lingers for hours (basically what I’m trying to say here is that they’re worth every penny). It starts off sweet and spicy, and dries down to a creamy vanilla finish. I’ve been reaching for this a lot lately.

Tom Ford Lost Cherry EDP | Top notes of Sour Cherry, Bitter Almond & Liquor; middle notes of Sour Cherry, Plum, Turkish Rose & Jasmine Sambac; base notes of Tonka Bean, Vanilla, Peru Balsam, Cinnamon, Benzoin, Sandalwood, Cloves, Cedar, Patchouli & Vetiver. The boozy and intoxicating aroma of maraschino cherries is the first thing that hits my nose. On dry down the cherry scent becomes jammy and sweet, with a sophisticated musky base.
