Makeup Christmas Gift Guide 2022

This one’s for the makeup lover. In the past, I’d usually combine makeup and skincare, but there was so much good stuff to share that this is now something of a two-parter. I’ve said it before, but beauty – makeup – it’s a great gift from “me” to “me”. This is one of the things I’ll typically treat myself too. For 2022, it’s the NARS Palette, which I couldn’t resist; the shadows always perform well, and that soft lilac was the major drawcard for me. 

You all know how much I love cream face products, and I thought this trio from Mecca Max was a brilliant buy. Under $50, and in my experience, cream products like this will be kicking around in your makeup stash for a while. Pigmentation on the blush and bronzer is great, and they’re highly bendable; easily buffed out with your fingers or a brush. The highlighter is an interesting one. It’s a gloss. This adds a bit of a sheen to get that glossy glass skin look. Love it.

Fenty Beauty have released a limited edition berry Fenty Icon Refill Lipstick Case. I love the formula; it’s intensely pigmented and has a semi-matte finish. Best part is when you make your way through the lippie, you keep the case and just pick up a refill. You can also purchase these Lil Icons, which is a mini lipstick duo featuring one of my fave reds – MVP.

Finally, I wanted to hero Merit’s Shade Slick. This is a stunning lip oil, which is comfortable to wear, and adds shine and a wash of colour to the lips. For me, an easy go to, that has some slip and doesn’t feel sticky. Being an oil-based lip product, regular top ups are required but it wears off evenly and is so comfortable on the lips. Very hydrating and nourishing, often acting as a stand in for my lip balms. Not a particular Christmas release, but one of those products which are so good if you haven’t tried it yet, you should. The Signature Lip is also great, and the shade selection unlike any other brand.
