I’d describe myself as a bit of a beauty junkie. Over the past few years, I’ve tried my fair share of products, but it wasn’t until I fell pregnant with our beautiful boy that I really started to think about what I was putting on my skin. More recently, I’ve been looking into the benefits of eco-friendly skincare, and thinking about how I can support local beauty brands. Jurlique immediately came to mind. Essentially where possible, I want to be able to improve the quality and appearance of my complexion, while opting for products that are developed under environmentally-friendly conditions.

The Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist has been a favourite of mine for a couple years now; it’s a cult classic for good reason. And rose in particular has been one of those core ingredients that I’ve loved adding to my skincare routine. The roses used in Jurlique’s products are grown and harvested using sustainable farming practices in the South Australian hills. As an ingredient, rose is scientifically proven to improve skin barrier function, and lock in essential moisture.

Jurlique delivers environmentally friendly skincare that’s natural, chemical-free and non-toxic. At the heart of it all is their biodynamic farm. The botanicals used in Jurlique products are grown in living soil, free from synthetic pesticides, herbicides, and fertiliser. Sustainability truly is at the core of the brand; their farm is zero waste, is powered by clean energy, all packaging is recyclable in partnership with Terracycle, and through the use of rain and recycled water, the eco friendly beauty brand has reduced its overall water usage.

I’ve now got two new (to me) products from Jurlique on the go; the Moisture Plus Rare Rose Lotion and the Moisture Plus Rare Rose Gel Cream. As someone who often finds overly rich or intense creams a little too heavy for me, these have played the perfect balancing act of delivering a glowy and hydrated complexion, while still feeling lightweight on my skin. The Moisture Plus Rare Rose range is formulated with antioxidants, and key ingredients including Jurlique Rose Flower Extract and Senna Seed Polysaccharide.

Jurlique Moisture Plus Rare Rose Lotion

The Moisture Plus Rare Rose Lotion has a thin consistency, that absorbs quickly into my complexion. It feels soothing, calming, and very nourishing – the Jurlique Rose Flower Extract at work! It leaves a luminescent glow to the complexion, and is suitable for sensitive skin types (I am prone to eczema and haven’t had a single flare up while using this).

Jurlique Moisture Plus Rare Rose Gel Cream

The Moisture Plus Rare Rose Gel Cream by contrast has a wet, slippery feel that’s non-greasy. It hydrates and plumps without looking shiny, and gives your complexion a radiant glow. A botanical hyaluronic acid replenishes moisture and gives the skin a natural glow. The core ingredients are the Jurlique Rose Flower Extract (to retain essential moisture); Senna Seed Polysaccharide (to plump and smooth skin); and Mastic Gum (reduces appearance of pores and shininess).

There’s a couple other products in the Moisture Plus range, including the Rare Rose Serum if you’re after an additional hit of hydration. If you’d like to check out these products and more in-store, you can find your nearest Jurlique boutique via their store finder.

Thank you to Jurlique for partnering with me on this post.
