Weekly Wishlist & New in from YOOX

YOOX Wishlist

For this week’s wishlist, I thought I’d share some of my favourite picks from the YOOX sale, along with a few new pieces I’ve added to my wardrobe. Let’s run through my favourites first….

Tibi beige tweed blazer | I’m having a bit of a moment with Tibi. I first discovered the brand while still living in Wellington, and it didn’t take me long to splurge on my first piece. Amy Smilovic has such a unique POV on style, and that’s evident in her clothing; especially since the pandemic hit. This blazer in particular is gorgeous; it’s an oatmeal-toned tweed, which gives you that nice hit of texture, while being a great longline shape. I find this type of silhouette perfect from a versatility perspective. Looks great for work, but can easily pair back with jeans, tailored shorts, or even a pretty slip skirt or dress for evening.

Ann Demeulemeester black wool cropped trousers | Trousers have been a real staple in my wardrobe this year. And you can’t go wrong with a black wool pair, if you’re after an enduring classic. I loved that this pair from Ann D have the tapered fit through the leg, and come with a (removable) rope belt. Juxtaposition can create some real interest in an outfit, and that small detail feels quite unexpected. Or, if you prefer to keep things timeless, you could easily swap it out for a leather belt instead.

Joseph yellow marle rib knit skirt | Talking of interesting piece, to me, this is a bit of a statement maker. Not one of those items you’d be wearing every single day, but something that can pair back to neutrals with ease. Think a nice button down, and boxy white tee, a beige silk cami. Maybe with a blazer thrown on top. Yellow is one of those colours I have a soft spot for, and the marled colour mellows out the boldness of the skirt. A more vibrant alternative to something like this.

Acne Studios steel grey cashmere sweater | Cosy knits make up a big portion of my cold weather wardrobe, and I found myself immediately drawn to this one from Acne. Acne knits tend to fit on the larger side, so you can imagine that wearing this would be like throwing on a big, slouchy, warm hug. Sign me up.

ATP Atelier black slide sandals | Thinking ahead to spring, I don’t think you can go wrong with a black slide sandal. With those core basic styles, I like to look to elevated versions. Basics with a twist. That little bit of intrigue which makes an item feel interesting and unique. Here it’s the origami folded detail across the strap. You get some additional texture, within a very classic style. Another option with I love, that’ll give you some height are these from Joseph.

NEW ADDITIONS

Wrapping up this post with a few new additions to my wardrobe from YOOX. These items were gifted, but selected by me, leaning into that idea of basics with a twist.

Merci v-neck knitted vest | First up is this beige knitted vest from Merci, which I’m wearing in the size small. I’ve really been enjoying the sleeveless vest trend, and finally felt ready to try and give it a go for myself. What drew me to this style was the slightly cropped length, and the dropped shoulders. There’s a bit of an oversized element, which has been a real penchant of mine lately.

Frame white cropped jeans | At first glance, you’d be mistaken for thinking these are just a simple white jean. But as soon as you swivel to the side, you get a peek of this side slit at the hem. For me this has a bit more of a spring element to it, but I think equally you could style these up with a high shaft boot for autumn or winter. You get this really interesting visual there, with a little peek of colour at the calf. The fit is spot on. I went with my usual size 26.

About Arianne black strappy pumps | I’ve been loving my About Arianne Mina pumps so much, but it’s fair to say that they lean more classic. I liked this style especially for the d’orsay cut outs, and the matching fabric tie at the ankle, which also runs along both sides of the foot. Plus, there’s a low block heel for a little bit of height – practical for my lifestyle, and also gives you a bit of extra length through the leg. These would be cute under tights for winter, but also, with white or neutral-toned dresses in the spring for that sharp contrast.
