What to buy from the 2023 Sezane Fall Pre-Collection

2023 Sezane Fall Pre-Collection Lookbook What to Buy

As soon as I saw the 2023 Sezane Fall Pre-Collection lookbook, I knew I was in trouble. It’s a big call, but this might be the best Sezane collection that has been released to date. And… I’m currently fighting the urge to add everything in this post to cart. So, let’s do a little virtual window shop of all the items I think are worth adding to cart, and why.

2023 Sezane Fall Pre-Collection Top Picks

Sezane Mederick Coat review
Mederick Coat belted white coat for winter chic

Sezane Mederick Coat | Quiet luxury in coat form as far as I’m concerned. The colour reads expensive, and there’s nothing quite like a creamy white monochromatic outfit in the winter time (clearly doing some outfit visualising here). Robe style coats are forever chic, and it looks great worn both open and fastened. Also love the deep tortoise button contrast on the cuffs.

Sezane Naella Skirt review
Naella Skirt ribbed cotton merino mini

Sezane Naella Skirt | I already have the midi length version of this skirt and it is good. It’s a cotton/merino blend, and so comfortable to wear. Has a thick, soft stretch waistband and IMO fits true to size. Washes well too! Very, very tempted to order the mini (to go with the matching Sami jumper!).

Sezane Michele Jacket Review
White double breasted blazer quiet luxury vibes

Sezane Michele Jacket | I’ve tried this blazer previously and even then, it was a total winner (I just messed up on the sizing!). I like a double breasted blazer like this because it tends to read a little less formal than a traditional-fit single breasted style. The contrast tortoise buttons are a real Sezane signature, which give the blazer a slight vintage charm. Open patch pockets also add to the more casual nature. I mean, how chic would this be with a pair of faded black jeans and a tee? Parfait! Also chic are the matching Damon trousers, which are brought back from last year (and sold out quick in case you have your eye on them). Another option is Sezane’s Christie Jacket – a style they bring back with every collection and every bit as chic as the Michele.

Sezane Magalia Skirt review
Crochet lace skirt with matching blouse jacket

Sezane Magalia Skirt | The crochet lace is what got me. A beautiful, feminine pencil skirt with sweet appliqué on top. Sezane always has incredible attention to detail, and it’s clear this skirt – and matching blouse – are no exception. The matching Yumi Blouse is equally stunning. The lace edge trim at the cuff and collar are exquisite. A match made in heaven paired together, but equally could envision these worn separately to add refinement and elegance to more pared back, casual pieces.

Sezane Nicia Dress review
Black a-line silhouette shift dress French girl style

Sezane Nicia Dress | Playfully feminine, with a universally flattering a-line silhouette. This has a sweet button back closure at the nape of the neck. And is already sitting in my cart. I like that it’s a heavier weight fabric, and sits just above the knee. Also feel like this would be such a fun piece to layer with over autumn/winter.

Sezane Antonina Jacket Review
Black sleeveless vest

Sezane Antonina Jacket | A beautiful tailored piece, I love the versatility of this sleeveless jacket. You can see that there’s a soft, subtle element of texture to the fabric, and the belt cinches it in to add some shape and waist definition which is especially appealing to me. I have the LouLou trousers from last year and am already finding myself curious as to whether this would seamlessly pair with them or not…

Sezane Musetta Skirt review
Charcoal wool trouser skirt chic office wear

Sezane Musetta Skirt | The Musetta skirt is probably the simple piece from the 2023 Sezane Fall Pre-Collection, but that’s what makes it stand out to me. It’s a classic silhouette, done well. Judging from the lookbook, this reads as a sturdy, robust wool-blend. Something I imagine to be lined. A chic work to weekend option that could be dressed up/down.

Notable mentions

Sezane pink Amiel jumper
cocktail ring
Champagne slip skirt minimal style

Perhaps it’s the remnants of “Barbiecore”, but I love a pink moment. The Amiel Jumper is the perfect shade of soft, muted baby pink. One I think I’d be adding to cart if I didn’t have something almost identical in my closet already!

The Iris Ring, which is a statement unto its own. A beautiful cocktail ring can be a great way to add personality into an outfit, as well as being a conversation stater.

Last thing I need to add to my closet is another champagne silky slip skirt, but the Sandy Skirt would be a contender if I did. The bias cut is stunning! Such beautiful drape.

Sezane Sibie Blouse
2023 Sezane Fall Pre-Collection Review
Sezane Chlo silk shirt

Having some concept of which colours do and don’t work for me, I’m self-aware enough to recognise that peach isn’t one of my best hues. But, I do love the Sibie Blouse. The irregular knife pleat detail and cinched cuffs are stunning, and the cut and fit are otherwise quite traditional and classic.

The tactile quality of the Kalvin Coat is incredibly alluring to me. And while I don’t quite have a need for a short cropped jacket like this, I’m instead choosing to have a moment of appreciation for it. Also very much loving the off-kilter, asymmetrical wrap effect of the button fastening. Tres chic.

Final notable mention is the Chlo Shirt, which has been released in a rich verdant green. I own this in navy and it is every bit as luxe as it looks.  Also now comes in a soft dusty blue.
