5PFW Purchase: Dior J’adior Slingback Flats

After eyeing up the J’adior slingback flats from Dior for the better part of two years, I was finally able to tick them off my wish list as my most recent 5PFW addition. Instead of going through the luxury shopping experience, I decided to save myself a few pennies and buy these pre-loved, which had the added benefit of being aligned with the style resolutions I made at the start of this year.

Working from home most days, the one thing I look for most in shoes is comfort and style, and these strike the right balance. From a comfort perspective, they’re wide enough across the sole to accommodate the girth of my foot without feeling too snug; and the elasticated slingback is thick but feels soft on my heel. Style-wise, the woven texture of the fabric across the foot adds dimension and depth, and the J’adior emblazoned ribbon adds a feminine touch.

The temperatures have really dropped in Sydney over the last fortnight, so the timing couldn’t be more perfect as I find myself slipping out of my sandals into slightly more substantial shoes. While the ankles are exposed, I find that the J’adior slingback flats are the perfect compliment to ankle grazing trousers or skinny jeans. Maybe with a big snuggly knit sweater too, or a nice tailored blazer to play off the elegant style of the shoes.

I don’t get too giddy about new wardrobe additions – it feels a little superficial to me to do so – but I do find real joy in splurging on a big ticket item I’ve had on my wishlist for years, especially when I manage to find it pre-loved. Can’t wait to finally start wearing them on regular rotation.

Hey Sophie, I actually just found mine on eBay! I set up a search and just kept checking and they popped up one day at a price I was happy to pay. The seller allowed offers so I sent one in and we met in the middle. I’d say, check the photos carefully, and if you can get access to a receipt, then that’s even better as it verifies the authenticity (Mine came with receipt). Also don’t be afraid to ask questions, and ensure you’re very familiar with all the details. If the item isn’t authentic or in the condition the seller stated, you are entitled to a refund under Paypal buyer protection. Hope that helps! x

As like you, these are on my wishlist for over 2 years. What a good idea of buying them 2nd hand, they honestly look like new! Would love the fabric ones with a kittenheel. Enjoy your new purchase !

I’ve definitely been prioritising buying items like this pre loved – more often than not you’ll be able to come across a pair in your size that are a good price. Depending on where you live you might want to check eBay, Vestiaire Collective or The Real Real as I’ve seen the fabric ones with the kitten heel pop up on there a lot. I have that style in the full suede and can attest to their comfort! Good luck tracking down a pair x
