All the sales you can shop now

The Black Friday and Cyber Week sales seem to be starting earlier and earlier each year. Case in point, it’s only Monday, but I’ve already managed to buy the handful of items I was planning (read: hoping) to snag on sale. In my case, planning was key, and I made sure to stick to a list. It’s the secret to ensuring you keep within budget, and only buy what you need.

Before diving into this post, I did just want to say that while sale season can be a great opportunity to pick up an investment piece or some much-needed homewares at a fraction of the cost, it’s all to easy to veer off course and buy things you won’t love a month from now, or even really need. I completely appreciate the allure of a good sale, but it’s not worth blowing the budget over. The Boxing Day sales will be kicking off in a month exactly, and there’ll always be new things to add to the wishlist.

As a bit of a helpful guide for those of you making purchases throughout Black Friday/Cyber Week, I wanted to pull together the best of the sales that you can shop right now. I’ve also highlighted a few of my top picks across my favourite retailers to shop. I’d love to know in the comments if you’re sitting out Black Friday this year, or if you are planning to partake, what’s on your wishlist.

THE ICONIC

The Iconic currently have 30% off a huge selection (discount applied at checkout); including a number of items I actually have in my closet. I bought these linen pants before my belly really popped, and amazingly, they still fit. Another favourite are these denim shorts. I have them in the washed black and they are fab. One thing I will recommend is opting for the larger of two sizes if you’re in between as I noticed mine did shrink a little when I washed them. I also wanted to highlight these boots from RM Williams. I’ve had them sitting in my wishlist for the majority of the year, and am still yet to pull the trigger. I’m swearing off shoes for the rest of the pregnancy (in case my feet grow a size), so won’t be snapping them up, but a wonderful option if you’ve had your eye on some RMs!

MISSOMA

Missoma’s Black Friday sale has started early, and you can nab 25% off everything with the code “VIP25”. If memory serves, I think they had an even deeper discount towards the end of the week, however the downside is that a lot of the core pieces in their collection tend to sell out during this event. I made my first Missoma order last year, and have been thrilled with the quality, so decided to splurge again; this time, on a pair of chunky earrings, and a chain bracelet.

NEED SUPPLY

One of my favourite websites to browse is Need Supply. Hands down. Their in-house brands – NEED, Farrow, and Stelen – are all incredibly cool, and I’ve gotten some fantastic bargains over the years by taking advantage of their seasonal sales. The sweet broderie anglaise midi dress I bought for my pregnancy (and to wear after) is included too!

NET-A-PORTER

My budget for luxury this year is pretty minimal; saving for baby (as well as some other practical expenses) has taken priority, but that hasn’t stopped me from keeping tabs on two luxury retailers. Net-a-Porter being one of them. They’ve launched a pre-Black Friday sale, with up to 50% off a huge selection. One of the things I spotted in the sale are my By Far Tanya mules!

MATCHES FASHION

The other luxury retailer I often take a peek at is Matches Fashion, and again, their Black Friday sale has started a little early, and boy is it good. I spotted the YSL Nu Pieds sandals on sale, this lovely oversized coat from Isabel Marant, and some delicious knitwear too.

MADEWELL

Some of my favourite wardrobe basics are from Madewell, and it’s definitely a brand I want to explore more in 2020. They’re currently offering 25% off with the code “STARTEARLY”.

DAVID JONES

Aside from The Iconic, the other Aussie retailer that I shop from the most is David Jones. I love that it’s a bit of a one-stop-shop; fashion, accessories, home, electrical – basically if I’m on the hunt for anything, I’ll usually browse here first. Their Black Friday sales kicked off this morning, and theres 40-60% off a range of fashion (including luxury/designer), homewares, bedding and electrical.

LUISAVIAROMA

Luisaviaroma are offering an extra 40% off sale using the code “EX40”. One of my favourites is this very simple wrap front blouse – it’s a style that feels utterly timeless.

SSENSE

I thought I’d wrap this up with Ssense, which has been a perennial go-to of mine during sale season. I’ve snapped up some of my most-loved accessories from here, including my Charlotte Olympia card cases, and Isabel Marant belt. They’re offering 50% off in their sale section.

Hello Jamie! Congratulations to you & your hubby! It’s been a while since I’ve been on your nice blog, but knew you’d be able to advise- I’m in the USA & an item I want to purchase is only available at retailers I’ve never shopped with- SSENSE & MatchesFashion. Have you had only great experiences with both these? I’m leaning towards trying SSENSE between the two.
    Thank you & best wishes!

Hi Holly, sorry for the delayed response! I’ve shopped from both retailers and can definitely recommend. Matches is a UK based website, whereas Ssense in based in Canada, so I’d say the latter would probably be the more convenient of the two for you to shop from. They do some pretty great sales too! x
