We’re a few days into the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale now, and Ambassador Early Access has now opened up, with Influencer Early Access set to open this Friday (16 July). For those of you still planning out what you want to add to cart when you get access, I thought it might be helpful to share some reviews on items I already own, that are discounted as part of the sale.

All Saints Balfern leather jacket | Kicking things off with what I think is one of the best bargains of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. This classic leather biker jacket from All Saints. This is just over 30% off, which I think is such a great price given the quality is outstanding. This has a slim fit so size up if you want to fit thicker sweaters underneath. Comes in classic black, in addition to a beautiful sage green, and fresh off-white hue.

Madewell skinny jeans | One of my most worn pairs of jeans for 2020 were a classic skinny from Madewell. I love the weight – medium thickness – and they’re seriously comfortable. Enough that I’d wear them most days while crawling around on the ground with our (then baby) boy. Sizing does run a little large so if you’re in-between sizes, go with the smaller of the two. Otherwise, opt for your ideal fit; for a bit more “breathing room” go with your usual, or go with a size down for a sculpted look.

Commando neoprene leggings | I recently added a pair of Commando leggings to my closet as an A/W update, and have not looked back. The band at the waist really hugs your body and keeps everything feeling “tucked in”, without being too tight. Also love the length. I have a 68-69cm inseam and these hit just above my ankle bone.

Madewell oversized trucker jacket | I really love this relaxed take on a wardrobe classic, and if you’re looking for transitional jackets, this is always a safe bet. The looser oversized silhouette creates interest and can play into that proportional balancing act when pairing together outfits. Plus it’s a good option to bridge that gap between the end of summer, and the start of autumn. I opted to size up to have a bit of extra room – I figure, the more oversized the better.

Re/Done high waist crop jeans | I’ve had my Re/Done skinny crop jeans for a good four plus years now. So you as you can imagine, I’ve definitely put them through their paces. The quality of the denim is beautiful. It’s mid-weight, but soft. And I love the button fly; it adds a vintage feel. Despite the “softness” of the denim, these are a rigid jean with no stretch. If you’re in between sizes, go with the larger of the two. Otherwise they fit true to size.

Madewell bandanas | I was definitely having a moment five years ago when I added a handful of bandanas to my accessories stash. And spotting them in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale was a good reminder to get them back out and into regular rotation. Great if you want to add a little colour to the strap of a bag, or worn in your hair, threaded through belt loops, or tied at the neck.

Frame Le High Straight Leg Jeans | There’s no shortage of great denim in this year’s Anniversary Sale, and the last pair I wanted to share are the Le High Straight Leg Jean from Frame. I have the Sylvie style, but the premise is essentially the same. A high-waisted, slightly cropped jean. Plus having owned multiple pairs of Frame jeans in the past, I can really speak to the quality. For sizing, stick with your usual denim size (I wear a 26 for reference). Love this straight leg style for A/W too; they look great paired with a high shaft boot.
