The four-month sleep regression is exhausting. I’m almost tempted to start spending my days in loungewear, working where I need to from bed. My weekend outfits definitely reflect that, as I opted for easy, relaxed basics which were the next best thing.

Linen is typically something I associate with spring/summer, but I’ve loved the juxtaposition of wearing this breezy material during the colder months. I was almost tempted to repeat my earlier combination, wearing this again with my alpaca knit, but decided otherwise when I finally started getting dressed. I opted for stripes; because when in doubt, they always work.

For shoes, I wore my Charlotte Olympia kitty flats. Funny how such a quirky flat is getting so much mileage as part of this capsule. They’re incredibly comfortable, and I always find myself getting a little smile on my face when I take a peek down at my feet.

Sunday’s outfit was equally laid-back. My jeans are in the wash so I went with the next best thing (that wasn’t wearing the linen pants again…). These trousers from Forcast have been a great staple since I purchased them. The tapered, semi-cropped length works really well for me, and this particular style has a bit of stretch to it too. It’s one of the reasons why I find them a good transitional item for work to weekend style.

Clearly I’d gotten it into my head about wearing my Everlane alpaca sweater. I absolutely adore the colour. Called ‘almond’, it’s the perfect cool-toned oat hue. While I had some reservations about this sweater when I first got it in the charcoal, it’s gone on to be one of my favourites in my wardrobe. It’s not a chunky knit, so it tucks well into denim or skirts, which is how I wear it most. There’s a lightweight, cloud-like quality to it, which really suits the climate we live in. I can quite happily wear this layered over a tee and I feel pretty cosy and warm. The puffed sleeves are a bonus.

I didn’t really bother to change out my accessories. On little sleep, I appreciated having one less thing to think about. This is definitely one of the benefits of a capsule wardrobe, and having a defined colour palette. Everything pairs effortlessly together without much thought.

Hope you’re all having a great start to your week!
