Items I Own On Sale 2023: Clothing Edition

Items I Own on sale best clothing staples in my wardrobe 2023

Back for round two of items I own on sale, today focused on clothing. If you missed my accessories edit, you can read it HERE. It was hard to condense this post down as so many pieces I wear on repeat – now, and over the years – are discounted. So, would encourage you to also go and review last year’s edit if you wanted further recommendations. Also, you can see all these items (along with some others) in motion over on my YouTube channel, HERE.

If you’re after a cheat sheet of all the current sales, then make sure to bookmark this post as I’m updating it daily as deals change. And of course, remember that these sales aren’t the be all end all. Black Friday is a great way to save on Christmas gifts, snag a discount on a much needed style essential, or perhaps just treat yourself. And if you do want to see my shopping edits, they’re all over on my LTK. But no need to go broke in the name of a “bargain”. Boxing Day sales will be here before you know it, then end of season further reductions, and so on.

KNITWEAR

Jenni Kayne Cotton/Cashmere Sweater | There’s 25% off sitewide at Jenni Kayne but if I had to pick just one sweater, it’d be this one. I’ve reached for this countless times, and unlike some of the other styles I own from the brand, this one has been the lowest maintenance. I think I’ve had to run the fabric shaver over it once (after at least 20 wears I think), and it’s not needed another touch up since. Slouchy, gives that perfectly nonchalant effortless feel. Not her softest, fluffiest knit, but it’s not itchy either. Love that it’s a 50/50 blend of cotton and recycled cashmere. Go with your usual size or size down for a slightly less oversized fit.

La Saison Sportive Nell Oversize Sweater | LSS is a new brand discovery for me this year, and become a fast favourite for their high quality, luxurious knits (all made with Australian merino, I might add!). My most worn piece from the brand has been the Nell sweater, which is this super slouchy, oversized style. Very easy to maintain, it can be machine washed and I just lay flat to dry. I wear my usual size S but would say if you are petite, you may like to size down. Have done a more detailed review HERE if you’d like to take a read.

Goelia striped wool jacket | There’s currently a buy more, save more deal on at Goelia, and of course you can always use my code JAMIE25 for 25% off. Item I had to highlight is the striped wool jacket. Hands down one of my favourite items I’ve added to my wardrobe from the brand, and I love that it’s easy to care for, too. I sized up to a medium as per the sizing chart. This is really easy to care for too, just pop in the washing machine on a wool wash setting.

DENIM/TROUSERS

Levi’s Ribcage Straight Jeans | I recommend these jeans at least once a month on my Instagram. If not more. I’ve tried countless denim brands over the years and my overall opinion is that Levi’s do it best. Price point is great for a quality pair of denim even when they’re not on sale, and the Ribcage is their most leg lengthening style. If you’re a tall girl then I’d recommend trying this full length version. I go with my true size. There’s some variation on fit between washes (slightly more snug versus comfortable fit) but overall would say that they fit true to size.

Everlane Way High Drape Pant | As far as high rise fluid drape trousers go, these are one of the best. I have them in a couple of colours, and find that they fit so well, plus love that there’s two inseam options too. These are a great wash and wear style, and I think at the current price they’re excellent value for money.

Frankie Shop Bea trousers | One of those trousers I’ve been reaching for a lot of late. These are perfect if you have a long torso, as the rise is quite long. The slate grey colour is an excellent option as a cool-toned neutral, which looks fabulous when worn with colours (think pinks, blues, minty greens etc). I wear these in a size S.

Facade Pattern Round trousers (extra 15% off with BF2023) | If I had to start my wardrobe from scratch, there’s no question that these trousers would be one of the first things I’d buy. They are that good. I actually have the full length version on my Black Friday wishlist, which spoiler alert, I decided to snag when the 15% off promo went live. But back to the cropped pants, these are a perfect style for petites too, and it’s the interesting silhouette that does it for me. And despite what it says on the website/care label, these can be laundered in the washing machine. Just choose a cold, wool wash setting.

DISSH Amelia pants | Another easy to care for trouser, this time in a linen and tencel blend which feels silk-like to wear. I find that these fit true to size, but run long in the leg so you may need to get them taken up (I did!). I believe these ones are one sale, with an additional 20% off!

DRESSES, SHORTS & SKIRTS

AERE Label Linen Dress | Such a beautiful option if you’re looking something chic and easy for Christmas lunch. Or even just the festive season and beyond. This is 100% linen, and lined. Love the one shoulder detail and the rouching under the bust. I wear it in size AU8.

DISSH Shannon dress | White dresses might not sound like the most practical choice when you’ve got two young kids, but I’ve been surprised by how easy going this one from DISSH is. Very much a wash and wear, and because it’s white, soaking isn’t much of an issue. Quality has held up despite frequent washes too. It’s lined, though I would recommend wearing flesh toned knickers with it. Also, suitable for bustier gals; mine does gape a touch under the arms if I’m not wearing a padded bra. Fits true to size.

JAG Shorts | Gone are the days when I’d reach for barely there cut off shorts. Give me a high-waisted pair with a reasonably modest hemline, any day. That’s what I like about these; they are a slim fit so no exaggerated silhouette, and the contrast stitching adds in a point of difference or focal point. I will note that they are prone to a little bit of creasing, but otherwise, perfection. Comes in a few other colours too.

Quince silk slip skirt | As of writing this post, Quince’s Black Friday sale hasn’t started yet. But… after spying this in their sale preview, I thought I’d mention it an even at full price, it’s a steal. This is washable. And I mean, actually washable, and the silk comes out looking great. Perfect length, and love the bias cut. Elasticated waistband makes this super comfortable to wear too.

TOPS

Assembly Label Breton Striped Top | As far as I’m concerned, Assembly Label is one of the most underrated brands. The quality far exceeds what I’d expect at that price point, and the Assembly Label items I have give some of my more expensive pieces a run for their money. They’re running a sale with up to 60% off, and many of my favourite staples feature. The one I had to, and I mean had to highlight is the Breton Striped Top. I get questions about this every time I wear it, and for good reason. It’s a soft, spongey kind of cotton, with a terry finish to the interior. It feels solid, but it’s not stiff or rigid. Has a lovely softness to it. You know it’s good if you get it in more than one colour. In addition to the red/white stripe, I also have the forest/white stripe too. I wear my usual size AU8.

DISSH Anika Twist Top | This top always elicits questions when I wear it. That twisted detail being such an eye-catching feature. This is one that I reserve for special occasions, and have gone on to add a few more DISSH pieces in this style over the years.

Madewell baby tee | 90s revival mode activated with this cute little baby tee. The ribbed cotton is soft and slouchy, and it’s a style that’s held up well in the wash. Loving the slim fit design of this tee. And their tanks are good too.

JACKETS

Everlane Quilted Cotton Liner | This one is 50% off, and currently listed as final sale. If you’re headed into winter, this is a great additional layer to wear under your coats, but as it isn’t as thin and squishy as say, one of these from UNIQLO, it will really only fit if you’re wearing outerwear with a drop shoulder. Personally I think it’s chic enough to wear on its own as is. Also that double zip feature. Yessss!

DISSH Rowan Blazer | Part of DISSH’s “essential” Rowan collection, this is in my eyes, a perfectly relaxed blazer. Not too oversized, and works well both for tall girls and petites. The fabric is the same as the trousers which means that you can expect to have some pilling with wear. This is easily remedied with a fabric shaver, and it’s reasonable to expect some maintenance be required of our clothing (but if that’s not you, so many other hardier options out there!). Fits true to size. Is fully lined too which we love.

Love this round-up! I have not purchased (or even tried on) items from Assembly Label, but your tick of approval will see me venture in store soon to look!
