One thing I’ve noticed throughout this renewed capsule wardrobe experience, is that there are still certain items I find myself reaching for more frequently than the others. Thursday’s outfit was a prime example of this; the alpaca knit which is a firm favourite, the faded black slim fitting jeans, and my ever-so-trusty two-toned pumps. Not pictured with this outfit is my khaki utility jacket, which I find myself wearing most days if it’s a little chilly.

Wearing Everlane alpaca sweater* (similar style); Zara jeans (old but similar here); Vaneli two tone pumps (alternate option here); The Curated bag* (I also like this one)

We spent the afternoon at the park with some other mums, so I was after something I knew I’d feel comfortable in (but still look chic). Despite being a simple sweater and denim combo, the accessories were what really helped to lift this outfit up. The bag adds another layer of texture, while the shoes have a smart silhouette, but are still comfortable to run around in – even with the low block heel.

One of the benefits of having such a well defined colour palette is how effortlessly items pair together. It wasn’t until I was peering at my final outfit in the mirror that I realised how perfectly tonal it was. The shoes reflect the colours in both the sweater and the jeans, which helps to tie everything in together.

Friday was a bit of a write-off weather-wise, so rather than spend too long mulling over my outfit, I decided to go with the easy option; stripes and my two-toned pumps. Just add pants.

Wearing Uniqlo (mens) stripe top (old but I love this option here); Forcast trousers (old but similar here); Vaneli two tone pumps (also here); Linjer crossbody bag*; Laura Lombardi earrings; Mejuri necklace*

I mentioned over on my Instagram that at the start of this 30X30, I set myself a silent challenge. Get through the entire month without repeating a single outfit. I did this not because it would be difficult to come up with 30 outfit ideas, but so that I’d force myself to switch things up. Outfit repeating isn’t a foreign concept to me, and while I love re-wearing an outfit I really enjoyed, I wanted to try and get creative.

It’s fair to say that 30 days of outfits only scratches the surface of what’s possible with these pieces. Add to that the fact that I’m now on my 25th day of this capsule wardrobe challenge, and I still have three unworn items. Even a simple switch of my shoes, or choosing to wear something tucked, untucked or belted, can completely change the vibe.
