After spotting that the 2020 Sezane Spring Collection launched last night, I wanted to share a round up of my top picks. You’ll probably know by now that despite by first disaster of a shopping experience with the brand, I still can’t help but browse each new collection that the French e-tailer releases. Since my first order, Sezane has made strides to shift to more sustainable materials, with 70% of this new launch containing eco-friendly materials like cotton, linen, mohair, recycled polyester and silk. Below, I’ve picked out five items that really caught my eye from the new Sezane Spring Collection.

Sezane Hermine Top

I’ve talked a lot about my style manifesto for 2020, and I promise, a blog post is imminent. The focus is on elements of Scandinavian and Parisian style, which perhaps explains my obsession with Sezane at the moment. One the design details I’d noted down, was pretty, feminine blouses. And the Hermine top ticks all the boxes. Beautiful embroidery is scattered across the fabric, with a small ruffle at the neckline, in addition to ruffled straps. It feels pretty, and would pair perfectly with some high-waisted shorts, or some straight leg jeans worn with a low block heel or loafers.

Sezane Philippe Jumper

Have you noticed that I’ve been utterly fixated on cardigans of late? It’s a huge trend for the current season, and I’m all for it. They’re versatile, a great layering piece, and as a bonus, nursing-friendly. After umm-ing and ahh-ing for a month, I recently splashed out on the Augustino jumper, which I loved for the v-neckline and pointelle detail. It wasn’t perfect, but rather than faff around with returns (which are an exorbitant expense if you live in Australia like me), I decided to keep it. And clearly, I’ve not stopped looking for the perfect one. In contrast to the Augustino jumper, the Philippe Jumper is 100% organic cotton. And it looks soft. I also don’t mind the rounded neckline – I feel like you could wear this both as a cardigan, or back to front like a sweater as with some of their other styles. A couple days back I made a cheeky order after a hard night with baby; this was one of the items I added to my cart. A full review is incoming when my order arrives…

Sezane Evy Dress

Dresses seem to be the only exception in my closet when it comes to print. The Evy dress immediately caught my eye; the blue and red flecking ‘paloma’ pattern is striking but still feels effortlessly wearable, and I love the boho silhouette. It’s very similar to a polka-dotted number I have in my wardrobe from ASOS. Again, it’s really the details that sold me on this piece. There’s a small ruffle which runs along the shoulder seams, voluminous billowy sleeves, and my favourite bit: the tie at the waist. You could wear it loose and flowy, or cinch this in for a less boho-feeling vibe.

Sezane Lucas Short

Gingham is one of those no-brainer prints for Spring that I always come back to without fail. When I spotted these shorts from the new Sezane Spring Collection, I knew I had to share them. They come in two colours, but my personal favourite is the nude and ecru version. Plus, they’re linen! The Lucas shorts are part of a two-piece set – there’s a bow detail camisole to match – but in my opinion it’s better worn as separates. I’d pair this with a huge oversized white shirt and simple sandals in the spring time, and silky little camisoles as the weather heated up more.

The final pick I wanted to share from the Sezane Spring Collection is this gorgeous pair of vintage-inspired sandals. There’s an intricate leather woven strap which is braided across the vamp of the foot. The thin leather straps fasten around the ankle, which feels delicate and feminine (plus practical too). These would pair beautifully with mini and midi dresses. Being ivory-toned, I’d opt to wear them more with lighter shades in my closet to avoid creating too much contrast. I love a good monochromatic look, and neutrals are still a huge focus for me style-wise for the season ahead.
