Hard to believe that there are a mere nine sleeps until Christmas. I’ve been asking this all year, but where has the time gone? It literally feels like it’s flown by in the blink of an eye. So, on my mind is Christmas gifting. And I’ve always felt that the best kinds of gifts to give are the ones you’d buy for yourself… So, today in collaboration with Everlane, I’m sharing three cosy wardrobe favourites that I think would be such a treat to find under the tree this year. Or, as a little pre-Christmas gift for yourself.

Wearing Everlane recotton box tee (size S); under an Everlane alpaca knit sweater (size S); Everlane Mackninaw jacket (size S); Everlane skinny jeans (size S); Sam Edelman loafers; Everlane Studio bag; Missoma earrings; Mejuri necklace

THE KNITTED SWEATER

Let’s get the obvious one out of the way shall we? I am all for anything snuggly – no matter the time of year – and I’ve always felt this is the type of present that you can’t really go wrong with. Knitwear tends to have more of a relaxed fit as well, which helps to make it a safe bet. My picks from Everlane include their alpaca knit sweater, which I’m wearing above in the almond. This has been a longtime favourite, and is up there as one of my most worn items for the year. It’s really soft, and lightweight meaning it delivers warmth without feeling too dense. I also love the blouson sleeves. It adds a feminine touch to the silhouette which is also a really fun styling element.

Another knitwear option is a classic; the cashmere knit sweater. Everlane’s cashmere crew comes in a sleuth of colours so you’re spoilt for choice. Great for someone who has a minimalist aesthetic, or a total maximalist at heart. The grade A cashmere is incredibly soft, and the silhouette is timeless. Plus, it can easily be dressed up, worn to the office, or paired back with denim for the weekend. A win-win. You can also purchase Everlane’s cashmere crew in the colour “whiskey” as part of a gift set, with a matching scrunchie. So cute!

A SOLID PIECE OF OUTERWEAR

This is the investment purchase, and one of the key pieces our closet needs during the colder months. It’s practical, functional, but you also want it to look good. I’ve mentioned this a few times already, but Everlane is pretty much my go-to for outerwear. If I had to start my wardrobe from scratch, their rewool coat is one of the first items I’d go out and repurchase without hesitation. It’s as classic as they come, quite heavyweight, lined, and I love the long length. I love that you can also easily fit a chunky sweater underneath.

For something a bit more fun, I am loving Everlane’s new “Mackinaw” wool jacket, which I’m wearing above. I have the oatmeal shade, which I think is great for anyone who loves neutrals. It effortlessly pairs well with darks, and is the perfect match with my almond alpaca knit. This is cropped in length, and has a boxy shape. Great for pairing with anything high-waisted. What I love most about this piece are the big oversized buttons, and the beautiful texture of the wool. A great option for the transitional months, or mild winter days.

The final jacket I want to recommend is the ReNew puffer and ReDown parka. I’m lumping the two together here, as they both fill a very specific space in my wardrobe. This is the jacket you buy if you need something that is going to keep you warm. The silhouettes between the two styles are relatively similar, the main differences being that the Redown parka has nifty little pockets at the waist which are perfect for throwing your hands into, plus it’s made from recycled down; and the ReNew Puffer has a quilted effect to the exterior, and is made using recycled plastic bottles. Both will keep you equally warm, and I actually love mixing them into my outfits during the colder months. They’re surprisingly easy to wear, and the oversized element is a fun styling tool, too.

COSY ACCESSORIES

The final Everlane favourite I wanted to mention, which I think would make a great gift this Christmas, are some cosy accessories. I’m talking beanies, scarves, and slippers here.

Circling back to alpaca, if you want to keep your head as toasty warm as your body, then you need not look any further than this alpaca beanie. I love the colours – a rich cinnamon hue, and a periwinkle blue – and it literally looks and feels like a little tufted cloud for your head.

Second is a cashmere scarf, something which is a staple in any A/W wardrobe. Cashmere is up to three times warmer than wool for its density, which makes it a great option if you’re looking for layering pieces. As much as I love a huge blanket scarf, sometimes you want something a little less bulky to wrap around your neck. And this is it. Again made from Grade A cashmere, so you know that this scarf is going to be ultra soft. It’s got good length to it too – perfect for wrapping around a couple of times.

My final pick are Everlane’s ReNew slippers. These would make a great gift as not only are slippers a must during the colder months, but they’ve become a bit of a year round staple and daily wardrobe essential, especially as many of us are spending a lot more time in the home. The ReNew slippers are made entirely of recycled materials (bar the trim), and have a cosy-looking fleece lining. What’s not to love?

Thanks to Everlane for partnering with me on this post.
