I thought I’d come at you with another outfit post, with what I was wearing yesterday; an ivory-toned v-neck sweater, some ivory cords, and a basic pair of black pumps. For me, day to day dressing has been simplified primarily by picking out head to toe monochromatic looks. It’s effortless, and it’s the simplest way to make wardrobe basics look elevated or even more chic.

Wearing Everlane cashmere v-neck, Everlane corduroy trousers, Everlane day heels, Mejuri hoop earrings

Part of my wardrobe philosophy places a huge focus on the classics, and since giving my closet a bit of a refresh, I’ve developed a newfound appreciation for those simple understated workhorses in my wardrobe. And what I love is that versatility to utilise those classic items in so many different looks. Like the ivory v-neck sweater I’m wearing, which would look great thrown over a little slip dress, paired with my favourite skinny jeans, or lazily tucked into a little denim mini. Or the corduroy trousers, which I’d wear with some strappy heels and a silk cami for a night out, or with a t-shirt and blazer combo if I wanted to make them look smart.

Underlying so many of my purchasing decisions of late has been the mantra: if you choose well, you can do more with less. So, as I start to share my outfits more frequently – including more monochromatic looks like this one – I’m hoping to showcase how these classic items can be worn in a multitude of ways.
