It feels a little odd to be sharing these photos mid-summer; even if it has been cold and rainy the past few days. I’ve been wearing the same handful of items on repeat, so it’s been nice to get to mix things up with some layers and snuggly sweaters.

Wearing Joseph rollneck sweater; Jeanswest BF jeans (old but I like this style); Everlane rewool coat; Everlane editor heels; Mejuri hoop earrings; JW Anderson bag (old but the red version is 70% off here!)

I’ve spent the past few years trying to figure out if boyfriend jeans are my thing. I love the way they look on others, but have always felt the proportions felt a little “off” on me. For my height, I have a long torso and shorter legs, so low-waisted pants or skirts do nothing for my silhouette. Because of that, I also need a decent crop to expose part of my ankle. Coincidentally, most, if not all boyfriend jeans I’ve spotted, tend to have a low rise – a proportion I often find difficult to balance out.

The other elements of this outfit are all favourites – things I’ll be wearing on repeat in the coming months. My Joseph sweater which I bought a little over two years ago. This is soft, snuggly and warm, and looks great paired with everything in my closet.

The coat is from Everlane, and is made from recycled wool. It was a late addition to my closet in 2019, but I’ve still managed to get a number of wears out of it; mostly from sheer perseverance. From a weight perspective, it’s much heavier than their cocoon coat, and the style is so classic. Safe to say I don’t really need any more new coats, but I have been eyeing this up in the light caramel hue too.

Finally are the accessories. Black pointed toe pumps with a low heel, and a matching black bag with gold hardware. Classic, easy and simple; plus, they don’t compete with any other element of the outfit.
