I’m pretty sure that I’ve lulled you all into this false idea of what a Wellington winter is really like. While it has most certainly been on the mild side, I spent most days in a heavy knit jumper, and either a skirt or pants/jeans, and wouldn’t dare think of leaving the house without wearing my winter coat. You’d probably be surprised to learn that I only own one coat, in addition to a light trench and a leather jacket, and after two years of almost constant wear during winter, it’s still going strong.

It might often seem like I have a bit of a revolving wardrobe, which, to some extent I do, but the pieces that I love seem to get worn to death, which gives all the more reason to invest in good quality basics or wardrobe staples. This is one coat that I’m hoping will see me through at least another two winters before I even need to consider buying a new one, but then, only time will tell.

I love a good coat that lasts! That’s like my purple DKNY coat, it’s going on it’s 3rd year and it will last much longer.
And you keep making me want to buy Alexander Wang jumpers, you seem to love them so much :p

I totally agree with you about investing in quality basics. I’ve always really liked KW’s coats and that one is no exception!

Your skirt is lovely! I have about 10 different coats in various colours, I couldn’t stick to just one!

What an amazing coat. With a beauty like that you really don’t need a heap of others. I always love your outifts. They are always put together so well and with some great basics thrown in for good meausure. They are realistic which is great to see on a blog.
